Do you party like it’s 1999 out with the unwashed masses?

Do you hide in your home and avoid Amateur Hour on the roadways?

That’s nice Lance. You failed to say if you were ever invited but I appreciate the addition to the thread!

Lately, I've been at the cabin on NYE and if I make it to midnight, I'll watch the fireworks that one of the neighbors sets off about a mile away. Otherwise, it's a snoozefest.

I've always had a tepid response to other people's celebrations over a date, whether it's NY or a birthday. It seems like a lot of fuss for no logical reason. Think of how Mr Spock would react and that's me. That's not to say I don't enjoy company or a few fizzies and kissing complete strangers but the date thing - meh, so what.
Not sure what plans we have this year. Down the pub most likely.

At midnight I’m going to stand at the viewing platform at the top of the Empire State Building, find a kids backpack with a teddy bear inside and hand it to security.

Back in the 1960s, I used to go to Trafalgar Square and have a swim in the fountains.

Every New Year for decades they've been boarded up for New Year's Eve.

We are going to a friend's probably small party. He likes wine, but his partner doesn't, and I enjoy wine at times, so he's already planning for us to have a wine night, and I'm good with that. There will be music and games and a generally fun time. It's nice to ring in the new year with people who matter in your life.

I shall be at home with my mom, as mom has invited some of the relatives and friends here. Mom has told me to go out to celebrate with the girls of my own age, so I asked mom if some of the girls were not going partying, can they come here mom and sleep over? Many now have a house party, as many cannot find a baby sitter, and the taxis are usually all booked-up for New years Eve.

we'll be at home, watching the ball drop, and i love to kiss him just seconds before midnight and on into the new year. a kiss across the boundaries of one year to the next. Alcohol, yeah, probably sex, and a long winter's snuggle-sleep

I will take door number 2 Bob.

Wife is out of town, so alone, I might light one sad sparkler in the driveway{sniff}.
*do I get the pathetic award???*

I'll be home with my wife. We'll drink some champagne, watch the event at American Airlines Center in Dallas on tv. Kiss. Go to bed. Clean up a little. Couldn't be more perfect. Anywhere really, as long as I am with her.

NYD celebrations are amateur hour.

I stay home and go to bed at the usual time.

:)

Let all the gods and buddhas sort the idiots out and send them to their heavens and hells.

When we were in our 30s and 40s, we would go dancing with a group of friends at a big country dance hall. It was great! Everybody danced with everybody, even strangers. There might have been a little hanky-panky in dark corners. After midnight, we went home and began the New Year with great sex. Now...I kiss my wife when it is midnight on the East Coast and 11:00 here, and I go to bed.

I always like to stay home and drink champagne out of a furry cup but this year we are going to a neighbour's house ... so will save that little erotic luxury for another day.

Might try that!

But at Midnight I intend to be buried balls deep in a certain lady friend of mine!
