New volunteer editor

I hope I am doing this right!! I have just signed up to become a volunteer editor and wanted to know if this was the right place to go for advice if I get selected to help someone with their work? Also just wanted to say hi

Be sure to add your name to the thread each month you're available to edit. Also, enable PMs.

Please ensure you have switched on your Private Messages. Go to User CP (top left of this page), click on Edit Options (in the left hand column), and then tick Enable Private Messaging in the second box down. Make sure that the next box down (Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators) is NOT ticked. Finally click Save Changes at the bottom of that page.

Mistress Lyn and nomoretears thank you both so much for your help. I have now enabled private messages, so blonde didn't realise that part lol
I am able to edit as soon as someone wants to give me a chance.... subtle not lol

ML and others won't steer you wrong. My best advice would be not to "guess". If you are unsure of a word or term or quotations, DO NOT comment. Ask for help here. This is a great resource. Another editor will chime in and provide proper guidance, I have learned so much here as an editor and hope you also learn as much as I have.

You don't just grow as an editor, it has made me a better writer, which is why i also edit to this day. There is so much collective knowledge out there, be a sponge. I respect your attitude. Contact me at amy time if you have questions. Any I cannot answer I will freely forward to those that probably can.

And most of all, indulge in the process. Great to have you on-board. Assuming you still are.

Thank you so much for the advise and yes I am here to stay. It has taken awhile for me to build up the courage to put my name forward but once I did, I was kicking myself for taking so long.
I am a sponge and always take advise when asked or given so I appreciate the input and will never assume if I am unsure lol
I have read a few of your stories and so appreciate the fact that you took the time to say hi and look forward to being part of the editor group and maybe one day I will venture forth and open up my own imagination lol
For now I am looking forward to being able to help out
