I'm a new guy and I can imagine that this has been posted a thousand times before, but here I go again! - possibly for the billionth time on this thread.

My wife has charged me with buying her our SECOND sex toy. Her first one she purchased at a local retailer and does not like (basic jelly and vib - not powerful enough she says).

So I reach out to you, my friends, what would you suggest as a good vib. for my wife that we can use together and her alone, while I travel. Where should I purchase it from? I am international (not local to USA) so we need to take that into consideration.

PS: I was thinking of a vib. cock ring - thoughts?

A vibrating cockring is very unlikely to be powerful AND it's not something that's good for her to use alone. If you want something like this, you're better off getting a plain ring and a separate vibe that actually is powerful and can be easily used during sex. I doubt it's what your wife had in mind, however, so it should probably be an addition to whatever you get for her.

What country ARE you in? Perhaps others from that country can give you ideas of where they've shopped in the past, i.e. retailers in that country or sites that ship to that country.

Ask your wife if she's interested in trying a Rabbit. The models that take 3 C batteries are powerful enough for me, and I require intense, focused stimulation. I have several sets of rechargeable batteries (you can get chargers that take multiple sizes of batteries so you can also use them for your camera batteries or whatever) so I never run out of power at a bad time.

You could also get a good bullet vibe and rabbit sleeve. The more powerful bullets take several AA batteries, and the rabbit ears will provide more focused stimulation, amplifying the vibration.

Your wife's current vibe could actually be fine in the power department, but the large amount of jelly and less focused design (I'm guessing) may be muffling the vibration enough that it feels really weak. Therefore, you should look for something that has a stimulation point close to the part that vibrates and the ability to provide focused stimulation. Generally avoid phallic/slimline/traditional vibes that have many inches of material between the motor near the base and the tip, and rounded tips. See how the one on the left has a bunch of material between the vibrating part in the base and the tip, and the tip is soft and round, which provides diffuse stimulation? Compare that to the one on the right, where the vibe is right next to the parts that stimulate and the smaller parts provide focused stimulation.

For real power, versatility, quality and value, your best bet is the Hitachi Magic Wand w/ the two, blue, vinyl attachments. If they don't have a model for your country, you could use it with a good power converter. If you want something that provides great clit, g-spot, vaginal, anal and cock stimulation during masturbation and sex for women and men, this is your toy. The wand and its attachments cost around $45 US without shipping. It's worth at least triple that, in my opinion, when you factor in its versatility, longevity and ability to produce amazing orgasms.

Also, unless you want to burn through expensive batteries very quickly, avoid vibes that take watch batteries. Instead, go for something that plugs in or takes standard-sized batteries that can be recharged. Toys that take AAA batteries or one AA batteries are almost universally weak, so avoid them. Toys that are rechargeable themselves are typically very expensive and vary greatly in power. Until your wife knows what she likes for sure, you probably don't want to take a chance buying a very expensive toy, especially since price often has nothing to do with pleasure and durability when it comes to toys (those manufacturers and retailers sure like to make us think expensive toys are better, though! ).

If I were you, I'd come up with a list of 5-10 toys that I thought would work (after asking here, reading multiple reviews, looking at what I could afford and have shipped to me), then ask her to choose her top 1-3. It's important for her to like the toy(s), and no one knows what's likely to work best for her than her.

I own the vibe ABOVE and it's not anything special. I just use it for it's vibration (which is pretty strong), but as far as insertion and pleasure to the g-spot.... It's not too fantastic at all!

I would like to suggest my favorite toy. I was first introduced to this toy by a girl friend of mine. She used it on me and WOW... I was in LOVE! I just had to have one! I searched for 6 months to find it, but finally did. It's not a vibrating toy, but she won't care once she feels this FANTASTIC toy! It's not very expensive either... $35 after shipping costs. This toy is originally from the UK, I believe. I found it on MANY UK websites!! (Google: "acrylic g-spot probe")

My hubby LOVES using this toy on me because it makes me SOOO WET and really gets me goin! :D She will love it!

Let us know what you end up getting!!

Ohhh I forgot to add.... I came 6 times with my favorite toy, yesterday! YES, IT'S THAT GOOD!!! Me and Hubby had a GREAT time with it!

Hitachi magic wand

Came in here to say just that.

It's settled then. Majority rules, and all! :D

I have to have at least the g-spot attachment for it, though (the ball alone is just plain irritating to me). And Hubby likes the straight attachment. If one is buying this toy, they might as well spend the extra $5 or so for the added versatility of the attachments.

I do have an exception to this, though. I have found one super powerful vibe that runs on 1 AA battery.

This is the vibrator that goes inside one of those cock cloning kits. If you use it alone, it's more powerful than most of my huge vibe collection. (and one of my favorite) It only has one speed, though, so if it's too strong, you can't turn it down. It is only $3, though, so it might be a worthwhile risk.

Oh, and if you want a bit longer, this is the 7 inch model. I don't know if it's as strong, though, since I don't have one.

The whole battery thing is a mixed blessing, though, even if they're strong enough.

You avoid the inconvenience of a plug, you may or may not get a relatively gentle vibrator (not usually possible to test before buying), but you're quite likely to get a vibrator that will wear out pretty quickly. More power usually also = more battery consumption, and they have a tendency to run out of steam at the worst possible moments.

Don't get me wrong, I think there's a place for both kinds. My bag of tricks would not be complete without a battery-operated one that works underwater, and another that uses a remote control. Plug-ins just can't do those things. But since I bought my girl her first vibrator - a Hitachi type - she has worn out at least half a dozen battery operated ones, and, left to her own devices, will still usually reach for the plug-in vibe first. As a beginning toy (or replacement for a beginning toy that didn't work out), I think they're a great choice.

Thanks - a few more questions.

Thanks folks for your input - I AM CANADIAN!!!! The Hitachi seems very industrial. However, what my wife likes to do is press the current viberator against me while MY cock is inside her. That extra power in the Hitachi may cum in handy then - no?

It seems the following seem to be popular:

Fukuoku
Eden Island Fantasy Vibrator Kit
16 Function Super Rabbit Vibrator

Seem to be popular - thoughts??

PS: i like it when she does that!

I agree, both battery and electric are good. Like your gf, I use my hitachi most often. It's powerful, reliable and versatile, and it provides the best stimulation and orgasms, hands down. We usually bring it and an extension cord with us when we travel, but when that's not practical, battery vibes are a good backup.

You shouldn't have a problem then. Most Canadians buy from Canadian or American websites that ship to Canada, and it's not like you have different power/plugs or can't get your hands on rechargeable batteries easily.

The Hitachi may not be the sexiest looking vibe around, but most of us don't use vibes for looks and it certainly makes up for it in feel, versatility and value.

We use it in all sorts of positions during sex, and have found it (w/ the g-spot attachment) is fantastic during anal, since it provides great clit stimulation and can easily be slipped in for g-spot action and extra stimulation for him. We even use it (w/ the straight attachment) anally on him while I'm on top, sometimes.

The Fukuoku is fine, but it isn't all that powerful and it eats up watch batteries, which are expensive.

The Eden Island Fantasy Vibrator Kit probably won't do much more for her than her current vibe, and at around $25, it's overpriced, IMO.

You might want to consider the design of the controls on that rabbit (they're flat) and whether a standard jelly rabbit is really worth $50 or so. This silicone one is the same price, and I've seen other silicone rabbits for around that amount.

I wouldn't pay more than $20 (usually including shipping) for a standard jelly rabbit. The two I've bought (they take 3 C batteries) for under $20 including shipping have lasted many years, and even if they don't, I can get two or more for the price of one more expensive rabbit and still come out ahead. My friends have loved theirs, too.

Adam & Eve is a good company to buy from because they have a 90-day return policy. So, if your wife doesn't like the toy(s) for ANY reason, you can get a refund or exchange.

Also check out Ebay's Mature Audiences section (under Everything Else). I've frequently been able to get toys for far less than I'd pay elsewhere, and I've never had a problem (I only buy from sellers with a large number of sales and very high feedback scores). You might be able to get a selection of good toys without spending a lot on ebay if you shop smart.
