I don't think anybody's really interested, but I don't care. I've got a new computer!

One of the things I dislike about new computers is transferring all your stuff from the old one to the new one. Major bummer. It's going to take me several more days to get familiar with the new one. I still don't know what all I have as far as software!

*happy sigh* Finally, a computer that can keep up with all my fast and furious icon clicking! Anyway, just thought I'd share. :)

Saw the topic and figured that you were talking about me...damnit!

*goes away humming "Your so Vain"*

LOL

Hmm. *weighing alternatives*
Play with new computer or play with Expertise.
Tough decision.
Maybe I'll go take a nap.

AWWWWWW This is not what I thought this thread was going to be about. LOL

Well glad to hear about your new computer. Have fun with it.

Seems like the computer is going to have more fun than I am this afternoon *sulk*

Sorry, Expertise. I don't have any energy, so I really did go take a nap. I don't feel that much better, though.

And, well, I'm a computer junkie, so don't feel bad. At least you're evenly weighted against the computer! :D

Puters are good for sleuthing and porn ...

... or sleuthing for porn too!

hey way to go dear ...
just think of all the great sleuthing you can do with that puter ..... hmmmmm ... oh yea and all the great porn you can download quickly ... not that i personally would know anything bout that ... not an innocent young girl like me .. lmao ..

Umm, I couldn't get your specs page. :( oh well. btw, when will the first broadcast be? :D

Woohoo!

Aww shit. I've got nothing to trade. back to sulking again.

Funny Guy, I just changed it a few minutes ago. Try again and let me know. I'm not sure when I'll sit down and seriously mess with it. Probably in the next week, though.

Expertise, that's okay. I don't ask for anything in trade except honest opinions. I know that you know that I know how it is when you don't have anything to trade! Confused yet?

Ok, I think I figured out the problem, its because i'm not registered with them, so they can't get some "vital" information about me and display it, thus creating a "bad parameter." And me no likey best buy, so why don't you just describe the computer?
-Processor (type and speed)
-RAM
-Hard Drive
-Monitor
-Speakers
-Neat programs
-Internet connection

Those should be easy to do. Here are a couple tough ones:

-Graphics Card
-Motherboard
-System bus
-L2 pipeline cache
-Sound card
-Graphics memory
-Peripheals (sp?) like scanner, printer, etc.

Ok, call me a computer geek. I just try to stay informed... :D :p

A new computer won't let you download pics any faster unless you get ADSL or cable service to go with it.

DAMNIT!!!

I thought someone got a new sex toy and was sharing!!! You are a damn tease!!!

Yep, I know. Kinda sucks.

Just for you, funny_guy
Compaq, AMD Athlon 1 Ghz
128 Mb RAM
60 Gb Hard drive
DVD ROM drive
CD-RW drive
16Mb NVIDIA TNT2 graphics card
Sound Blaster Live Value
Logitech Quick Cam
17" monitor
200 Mhz system bus
256k L2 cache
Hopefully that doesn't put everyone to sleep. LOL

Naked Hunny you got that right. I loooove to tease! LOL

Conventional Wisdom

.....says, a new computer (especially with a webcam), IS a new sex toy.

Boo

There are a lot of ways to transfer the old stuff to the new puter. If they both have lan cards you can connect them through a hub and transfer all your programs that you want (if you still have install exe) or it can be done with direct cable connection.

One really neat and niffty way is to pull old hard drive out and install it as a slave drive (if you know a little about hardware installation)then the old puter is there with everthing on it as second drive.

Well good luck April and congrates on the new system it looks like a relly good one. It usually takes me a week or two to get everything setup and installed with a new puter or a reformat.

Let us know when the cam is up and running

HOLLY SHIT!! That must've cost an arm and a leg! The gig cpu's themselves would cost a liver or something. Thats a nice piece of ass--oops, I mean equipment. Can I see it? (either one? :D) Hope you have fun with it, I know I would ;)

The Athlon CPU's are not that expensive. My son just built an Athlon 850, and he has less than $1000 in it. The motherboard cost him more than the CPU.

We bought ours from Best Buy. I decided on an Athlon because it's cheaper than a Pentium III, does the same thing, and has a 200 Mhz bus as opposed to the Pentium's 133 Mhz bus.

Including a 3 year service plan, and sales tax, it came to $2615.27. I know that's a lot, but we're planning on keeping it for at least 4 years. Hopefully 5 or 6, if not longer.
