Okay Everyone i'm new to writing and started writing my own story the other day. I got about 4 pages down on paper and i was really getting into it. I know its far from over and that its gonna need lots of polish before i'm ready to post my stories anywhere, but my problem is I want to write the story and I want to do it really badly but I can't seem to get myself to sit down and write. So I guess i'm asking what do you all do that gets your inner muse to sit down and just start writing?

Self discipline.
 
Having your friends yell at you and make you shoosh your ADD away and sit down to write. :cathappy:
 
The same way you get to Carnegie Hall, practice. ;)

Don't stress too much though. I find stress really throws a wrench into the creative process.

Yeah thats my problem i have ADD when it comes to anything i don't have to do.

I'm learning to sit down and write whether I want to or not by... well, sitting down and writing. I also give myself the permission to write the worst crap in the world. I can always fix it later. ;) Have fun!

Thats some good advice i think i'll take it.
 
Write a little something for the Flashfic thread. It's just 100 words, more or less. You could do that. We all could, even though most people here flitter away their time actually writing stories to be posted on Lit. ;)
