Ladies, i'm asking for your advice.

Well i've finally gotten over the 5 year relationship that ended last year, so i've begun actually "looking" again. The other night i was at a bar downtown, and I had the same problem i keep having over and over and over. I look around for a while and find a girl i want to meet. I want to go talk to her.... but what the hell do i say?? (I think) I'm a pretty nice, fun guy, and if she gets to know me theres a good chance she will like me... but how do i go up and "get my foot in the door" so to say? Its the most damn frustrating feeling in the world. So if any of the girls here have any constructive advice.... i would LOOVVE to hear it.

what... just walk up to a girl that doesnt know me from scratch, and say "hey, I'm a nice fun guy, and if you get to know me theres a chance you will like me?"

..... sounds like a recipie for failure.....

in same boat

Ladies,

You have to understand that we become speechless around you. We have many things to talk about, interesting conversations and topics.....after we leave. In your presence, we can't put a simple sentence together. Especially those of us who've been out of the game for awhile.

But it really IS that simple. We love to hear a guy who is straightforward, honest and maybe a little shy. If a man told me "I am a nice guy, I think you might like me, how about sitting down with a drink and talking for a bit?", I would definitely sit down for a drink! :)

Well sure, but wouldnt that come off as maybe a little self-centered?

I think it all depends on the way it is presented. If it was obvious you were a bit nervous, or shy, or stumbling over words, then it would be endearing. But if you said it with a swagger while eyeing me from head to toe and not looking uncomfortable in the least, I would probably consider you a player and not give you the time of day.

I guess the bottom line is...if you are sincere, it will show. If you are just trying to get into our pants, we know that, too. ;)
