Just got stationed in the area quite recently. Followed the boards for awhile now. But never found a reason to join til now.

Welcome to the neighborhood.
You have 100 miles of fun in (nearly) every direction.
South of you is San Diego (university party girls)
North of you are beach towns and the OC. Try Newport for wealthy women.
And north east of you is the desert and the mountains. Big Bear is always a kick.
There are something like 10 teams in that radius (hockey, baseball, basketball).
Two horse racing venues
...and I haven't even reached L.A.

I've really only gone out to the gas lamp so far and some of oceanside (regret it) lol but I'm have a good time already. I really like this area. Being from the east coast is totally different. I can use to this 24/7 summer weather.

Could go without the fires on base though....
