It’s silly theatrics. I oppose all government subsidies for professional sports stadiums so if I lived in TX, I’d prefer a law that says no money for any pro sports franchise or league, no strings attached. As a practical matter, I doubt this national anthem thing will have any impact on the Mavericks, Rockets, Cowboys, Texans, or Rangers.

I don’t care if athletes hate the flag, hate America, or think they’re victims. But when they bring their hateful politics to the stadium or arena on game day, fuck ‘em. Shitty quarterbacks do not play in a Super Bowl. They don't hate the flag, at least not most of em. They have a platform however and if you have a platform and don't use it to your advantage you're worse than scum.

This whole thing could have been over in two weeks if people like you had come out and said "Black Lives Matter and the police out of control and not just against minorities.' Cus its true, despite crime being on a such a decline that we're basically at 70s levels of crime police have been getting steadily more violent.

Now some of that is that starting in the early 90s people increasingly had access to video cameras and no just about every one is carrying one in their pocket so I'm sure some is just that we're getting evidence more easily. Since we're trained from the age we can talk that police and fire fighters are heroes he said, she said was never gonna go in the way of the victim. I suspect some of it is we have an increasing amount of vets in the joining the force.

However if you've never heard that all it takes for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing you're the guy asking good men to do nothing. And I've been to games, people very intentionally go get a beer or a dog or take a piss because they don't want to stand for THAT. I'm 99% certain you're not standing in your house/apartment. I can speak from experience, members of the military with terrible run times can haul ass so they can get in doors before any of those patriotic stuff comes on.

Sure active duty personnel can't speak at rallies or do interviews but the rest of us can. Why was Fox not running back to back interviews of Vietnam, Korea, Iraq (both times) vets? Because at the most we didn't care. I'm sure you can find the jack ass who was offended but you could literally walk into a Veterans of foriegn wars location and have them collectively condemn the actions. But they fought for the Constitution not the flag. And that includes freedom of speech.
