I just got this feedback on a new story:

totally wrong slang
11/28/14 By: Anonymous
The genreally and nearly worldwide accepted slang for an orgasm is 'CUM OR CUMMING' NOT repeat NOT 'come' damn why do authors keep making this simple mistake? (Including their spelling error)

First, this is a really picayune thing to complain about. Second, the feedback is self-contradictory. If authors keep saying "come" how can "cum" be the generally and nearly worldwide accepted slang?

There is no worldwide accepted rendering of this, so just forget about the comment.

I agree that it's maddening when you've posted a complex story and the comment is on some nitpicky issue in which the commenter more often than not doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

Learn to shrug and ignore.

This, exactly.

Personally, I tend to use "cum" as the noun, and "come" as the verb. "Cumming" looks misspelled to me.

For that matter, misspelled looks misspelled to me, so maybe I'm not the best judge.

I'm not suggesting you jump off a bridge, but that's what this reminds me of.

Lots of people put "come" in a story... When they are writing about heading somewhere, where they might then "cum".

And the anon is an expert how, exactly?

On what huge sample of literature does he rest his case, I wonder?

"Tosser" is always spelt with two 's' and I reckon that's what he is.

Ignore the comment, and delete it, thus silencing him, is my advice!

What Electricblue said, :)

There are no rules. Conventions? Yes. Rules? No.

I absolutely never write 'cum' always 'come' (I don't mind either spelling when reading though)

This is what I go with.

This debate "comes" up from time to time.

I'm going to come.....

She licked the cum from her fingers.

Sometimes I take that as a compliment. If that is all the reader could find to bitch about its not so bad.

I have a story that's about 28k and a comment of "A Border separates two countries, a boarder is someone who pays rent, know the difference"

Not one remark good or bad on a close to thirty k story, just that.

Just roll your eyes and move on.

Even the Urban Dictionary, my reference source for sexual words, gets confused with come and cum.

For me, I go with cum as the noun for the semen ejaculate but prefers 'coming' for the transitive verb.

ignore it.

cum is slang. cumming is also slang. please never say cummed. (lol the only word with the squiggly red underline here) it's "came." in 'merica. Which is past tense for come... Say what you want. If you don't like it change it. If WE don't...? Eff it. Say what you want.

I read a story here...."He cummed and cummed, shooting thick white ropes of semen...."

Even for a stroke story I was embarrassed for them.

Right?
With a [grunt, silent snarl, final thrust...] he came. Shooting jet after [spurt, splash, glob...etc] of thick white semen.

I kinda like ropes...

I think the thick ropes off semen must come from those twelve inch cocks as thick as coke cans....

This guy is a serial troll who's been around for years.

The good news is that pretty much everyone considers him to be a complete idiot. I've seen numerous follow-up comments telling him to pick up a dictionary -- any dictionary -- and look up the word "come".

yup

I think the thick ropes off semen must come from those twelve inch cocks as thick as coke cans....

its what dreams are made of. that and getting it up again the same night. or even better it never going down. 33 and I don't think my heart can take Viagra.

I can forgive that because I have experienced that. Both of them. I have had the never-ending erection for a couple of hours and two orgasms, and I have gone three times in one afternoon. Heck, I maxed out on five orgasms in one calender day once.

I had to laugh. From my (limited) RL observations, I've watched two longish (10+) cocks erupt, one pool-cue thin and one tree limb thick; BOTH just dribbled semen. At a swinger party, I watched a woman stroke a 5 incher until it shot over the prone man's head (several spurts, not just the first.)

As to the OP, the anon's 'world' is probably 12' x 12'. There is little hope that you can enlighten the knuckle-dragger. He likely wouldn't return to see any rebuttal you put in comments. If he rails against so many authors that 'keep making the mistake' without realizing his opinion may not be so worldwide accepted as he thinks, he won't accept facts from literary references that suggest both come and cum are usable, especially in free-published material.
