I had a thought! Tadaaa... lol

I'd like to find 3 poets from here who don't usually participate in the STCs... They could be a panel... like Randy, Paula and Simon... LOL I was thinking of YDD and darkmaas to name 2.

I think it might be fun, and certainly informative/educational, for our entries to be judged. Not so much for a winner, but to point out the good and bad parts of our poems. And it would be honest and constructive and we would only enter knowing we would be judged.

I liked this last challenge overall. I'm not fond of Bob's but now I can write one. The best way to learn about forms is to write (and rewrite) them.

Jim has given me some good advice on Haiku. This stuff should be shared.

We would pick a title, and a form, and a date, and post them on a specific thread. Then, after the critiques are over and we've improved our work, we could submit them or not- as we please!

Any thoughts on this?

It's an interesting idea to have a panel, but for my own desires - I find that the spontanaiety and delight I get from reading all of the entries simultaneously from scratch is something I really enjoy.

There's no pressure and no competition, just a chance to write in new and mysterious ways with different groups of writers. For me, writing for a panel, then submitting the work just isn't the same.

Not that this couldn't be an interesting alternative or addition to writing challenges, I just hope we retain STC challenges in the current format as well.

Dearest Boo;

This could only end in tears. I somehow can't come to grips with darkmaas as some hirsute Simon Cowell... perhaps I could practice to be Randy...

"Dawg... that really was a baad haiku. Gotta learn to stop at seventeen."

Respectfully,

darkmaas

Catbabe!

Make nice now.

Dark and fluffies gotta show some solidarity.

Well, okay, O Dark and Fluffy One. I will be nice from now on or at least for the next five minutes anyway.;)

I don't want the Dark and Fluffy Union after me too.
