New Star Trek Recasts Orignal Characters

Paramount Pictures is producing a new Star Trek film recasting the original characters. Rumors are the following:

Captain Kirk.........Matt Damon
Mr. Spock.......... Adrien Brody
Dr McCoy............Gary Sinise

No word on the other characters yet. I think Matt Damon is a good actor and might be a good Kirk but William Shatner proved that acting ability wasn't really necessary for the role. Not too familiar with Adrien Brody's work but the casting of Gary Sinise as Dr. McCoy is brilliant. I can just see him putting on that, I've been constipated for two weeks and I'm really pissed look on his face and snarling, "He's dead Jim!".

Any other suggestions for the other characters? How about:

Jet Li ......................Mr. Sulu
Beyonce...................Lt. Uhura
Sacha Baron Cohen....Mr. Chekov
Jack Black................Scotty
Nurse Chapel............Courtney Love

It's the whole "reinvention", like Bond, Batman, Superman...they are all going back to their roots.

Who knows...the reinvention of Batman was by far the best Batman movie, hands down.

But doing what they are doing is going to be very, very tough.
