Are you uploading them to a hosting website? It may help if you do that first, then attach them via the URL link rather than trying to host them here.

So for example, go to a site such as http://www.postimage.org/ and upload the file. If you are given the option you want to resize it down to about 300-400 pixels tall or so. Then copy the image location URL, and when you select "post reply" here click on "manage attachments" and then paste the URL into the popup.
