i have written a story and have submitted it twice, and was wondering how do i go about looking for someone to help me edit it.. i went to the volunteer page, but didnt find where i was to submit for help too.....

can you help?

all i get is there may be some content in there misspelled or grammer wrong... but i went over it again with a spell checker....

If you're still looking for someone to look it over, I can give it a shot.

Remember, computers can correct mispelt words and correct grammer as they've been programmed to, but it only goes so far. For example:

Do you no how too due it doggies tile"? <-- (Isn't going to cut it)

Words spelt correctly can be the wrong form of the word, or it may be used grammatically incorrect given the context, despite being okay grammatically on it's own. They can be hard to pick up for the author since they're used to seeing them in place as they are.

Hence, the editor.

Unless the spelling or grammar are absolutely atrocious I don't think your story would be rejected for these reasons. What it is more likely to be is that when you 'sent' it to be posted it somehow got messed up altogether with 'wrong' coding.

How did you send the file? Did you paste the story into the box or did you upload it as a file?

Try the opposite.

i typed it from my head into the box

Whilst I admire your bravery in typing from your head into the box, from a critic's point of view (gauche or otherwise) that's the worst way to do it.

This is complicated (and possibly wrong)

To get it back go to 'story index' and click 'log in', click 'submissions' on your log in page, click 'view current submissions', click 'reason', you should be presented with the original box with your text in it.

Now go to the top of the page and click on the first word and hold the mouse button down then move it downwards 'til all the text is coloured blue.

Right click anywhere in the blue and do 'copy' from the menu.

Open 'word' on your desk top and right click on the page and do 'paste'.

Save it from the task bar and call it whatever you like.

Click on the link in this message on the bottom which says PM. Do the click and paste thing again and send me the message.

I've been as simple as I can because I don't know what you know (or don't know) about computers and the netand this site.

If I get your pm I'll have a look at your story and see what can be done.

Paragraph size is a big consideration. Make sure your paragraphs are small enough to be very easily read.

The Big L uses Word to do her stuff in. What do you do spellcheck with?

Do you use proper capitalization in your story or do you write like you do here? If you write as you have here, well, you're not going to get the story posted. Do you punctuate?
