The color announcer said it, not me, but is it possible? Their remaining games show only two teams with a winning record thus far, New England & Dallas.

Now I was at the Dolphins, Orange Bowl (on a sailboat, on the Miami River), during their undefeated season, in what, 1972?

So.....?

Looking at their schedule they could have a few surprises. Carolina could have a good game and shake them up, as well as their second shot at Atlanta. When Atlanta plays good they're dangerous. Just flip a coin and see which Atlanta is going to show up. I think the Saints are better, but NE and Dallas could get them, too.

The Colts have had a few seasons where they go deep with no losses and all the talk starts about whether this is going to be the undefeated season. It seems a bit distracting. The Colts have the tougher schedule ahead of them it appears. Houston (twice), New England, Baltimore, Denver and NY Jets.

I would LOVE to see a Colts/Saints Superbowl. If somehow they both got there undefeated could you imagine the hype?

All I know is, they're putting up ~40 pts/game. The Saints are fantasy football gold this season. :D

There's a reason the phrase "Any given Sunday" has become almost cliche in football talk. Football is a team sport heavily driven by stars in a league with a salary cap that forces a lot of parity at the top (but still lets the Lions exist). Even a dominant team can easily lose one week due to injuries, bad calls, or complacency.

I don't personally think either the Saints or Colts have the sort of team that can go undefeated. Neither seems as strong as the New England Patriots were in their undefeated regular season run.

If the Saints keep playing as a team, they will be hard to beat. The NFL has gotten more competitive and it is no longer possible to just keep a few good stars and win. You have to have a whole team, coaches and staff. And don't forget the cheerleaders!

New Orleans looks like they have the whole package running like the "Old" 49ers.

New England? Don't think they have it wrapped as tight, yet.

I thought I had noticed a thread or two over the years concerning professional football in America, and then with no responses for a while, I thought perhaps those are among the ones no longer with us.

Aside from playing football in high school, right halfback, it wasn't until I was building a sailboat in Miami and heard the cheers from the nearby Orange Bowl, that I began following the sport. It has been a very long dry spell for the Dolphins, gads, 35 years, and I don't watch the sport that closely anymore, but still, two undefeated teams at this point always garners my attention...

For the third time this year Ami, I agree with you - go Dolphins. After the Steelers, of course. :)
