Started two new jobs today, after 3 weeks out of work.
First is in high-tech like I've been doing for a couple of decades now. Started new job this morning.
Second was a fluke. My husband and I are both into reenacting history in appropriate clothing of particular eras. For his company's upcoming Christmas party next month, we decided to go in period outfits. I found this vintage clothing store that has a great little black dress of about the 1920s era, really cute and sexy (every woman's GOTTA have a cute and sexy little black dress, right?). I took Frank there to show it to him, we both got talking to the store manager, she was impressed how much we know about vintage clothing and how enthusiastic we are about the topic, and she offered me a part-time job there for the Christmas rush. I can use the few extra bucks, what with our son away at an expensive school for learning-disabled kids. So I started THAT new part-time job today, too.
As an employee, I'll get my cute/sexy vintage dress for the Xmas party at HALF-PRICE! And get paid to be there! Woo-hoo!
BTW Frank's outfit will be a cut-away (tails) coat, grey wool vest, cravat tie and top-hat. Very handsome outfit.
Frank's company is still considering the promotion he's up for. They are supposed to meet with him at 2:00 tomorrow, if he passes that he will probably get the promotion, but not sure when or even IF he'll be promoted, we just don't know yet. And no, it's not a promotion to prez of the good ole USA, Frank's decision will probably be in LONG before the Florida decision is made!
Gee, and 8 months ago we were BOTH out of work, now we have THREE good-paying jobs betwen us. Just lucky I guess.
Anyway, wanted to share the good news with you all.
