Running contrary to the growing "creeping fascism" in America today, the governor of New Jersey signed statewide "Freedom to Read" legislation to prevent the unilateral banning of books in public schools yesterday.
LBGQBT+ books are not automatically banned system-wide because some effete parent has butthurt fee-fees, as is the case in many states now. Common sense prevails. Local school boards retain the option to limit certain books to certain ages.
The legislature pointed out that 44% of all book banning attempts nationwide dealt with titles that contained a non-white protagonists (horrors) while 39% dealt with non-heterosexual themes.
Lit Political Board self-proclaimed "attorneys" will be along shortly to man-splain how this legislation is in direct contradiction with the United States Constitution.
