New Jersey Fat Man Cancels Ticket In Republican Party

Gee, a few months ago you would have blown him.

Your previous assessment of the man is correct.

Now you're the butthurt old man once again.

Chris Christie Unveils Sweeping Gun Control Plans
By Kevin McArdle April 19, 2013 4:55 PM

Gov. Chris Christie unveiled gun control and violence prevention measures that are as comprehensive as they are ambitious.

Christie acknowledges there is no way to prevent all violence in our society, but he says it is the job of government to question, to scrutinize and to demand more in an attempt to address the problem.

The plan calls for expanding New Jersey’s already strict gun control laws, expanding government-funded mental health treatment, making it more difficult for kids buy or rent violent video games, requiring that would-be gun owners show government-issued IDs and bolstering penalties for gun-related crimes.

“It’s hard for me to sit here today and say, ‘If all these things got imposed we’d see an ‘X’ percentage drop in gin violence in this state.’ I don’t know,” said Christie. “Bad people are going to do bad things and so, would greater penalties deter people? You hope they do.”

Do you have a problem with what he's proposing?

Pubs will probably 'primary' him now, cos we know they can't stand winning.

How Presidential of him.

I'm not big on his attack on video games. Still not a fan of the man, Jersey already has tough gun laws, i'm curious if they still have a "problem" and how much of that problem can they hope to solve alone.

Which of these things reduces 2nd amendment rights?

Gin violence is a real problem. I'm glad the governor is addressing that.

The Whigs went thru suicide back about 1856. I figger the GOP will do the same soon. We'll get a conservative party, the democrats, and the me too gop.

Maybe expanding the gun control laws, but he was too vague to tell for sure.

Censoring video games might violate the First Amendment.

Video games are already over regulated. As silly as his plan is, it's ultimately harmless and at worst a bit annoying.

Then the Democrats run everything forever until the alignment changes again, because neither of the others could get anywhere near 50%.

America is more or less intact after most of a century of increasingly liberal leadership.

Chris Christie has seen the hand writing on the wall. The Republican Party is in shambles and all they can do is think of ways to shrink the party and reduce its influence.

He's not risking anything. When a center moderate conservative party emerges from the smoke, he'll be in a perfect position to look at the old GOP and say, "What have you done for me, lately."

To me he doesn't represent the Republican Party, he seems to want to jump into McCain's maverick pub fucking boots.:D

Problem is "Your Republican" party loses.

If a smart Republican wants to win, they distance themselves from "your view of the Party".

Too much truth here not to be quoted again.

There's nothing vague from the article.

Banning video game sales to minors isn't a violation of the First Amendment.
