New Interface drops category

Has anyone else notice that the new author interface no longer contains the category? Is that by design or another issue they're trying to resolve?

Your activity feed most likely looks wonky as well. It's all part of the same bug-set.

Mine works perfectly fine on desktop, but attempting to access it via either of my tablets has all the bugs, including the missing category listing.
