Don't say, "I am by no means a good writer." Let other people say that! Seriously, the more you do, the better you will get.

No disrespect, but you’ll garner a lot more interest if you list those ideas up front. I suspect not too many people will go to the trouble of PMing you to find out if your ideas are something they might be interested in.

Trust me, most authors are not bereft of story ideas, wishing and praying for non-writers to bless them with ideas for new stories. Rather, most authors have dozens of half-written stories cluttering their hard-drives, waiting to be finished.

The value of this Story Ideas forum is (in my humble opinion) in helping authors and would-be authors to bounce story ideas off of each other and fine tune them, getting them into shape where they can be written to maximum advantage.

I sometimes get inspired by Story Ideas ideas, and half-written stories often get chucked in the bin where they belong.

Quite often, yes, but I have found ideas here that people wanted turned into stories. Yes, my hard drive is starting to shudder with all of my own half-baked ideas, but I'm still willing to look.

I wouldn't say I have dozens - I've got about twelve to fifteen that I left undone. I should make a more accurate count. Usually, I do get back to them, but I'm in no rush.

Occasionally I do get a comment about an existing story or series that inspires me to do a sequel or, in one case, to do a rewrite that then leads to a series. I haven't used the Story Ideas forum that much, but maybe I should try it more often.
