New Idea

As its Memorial Day, I had a new idea to honor the troops. It was inspired by a 60 minutes show I watched last night about US soldiers returning home as amputees.

Being a 20 year USAF vet that participated in several conflicts, I have nothing but respect for those young men and women. My heart goes out to each and every one of them. I tend to be the emotional type and I'd be lying if I said the occasional tear didn't surface (OK, several, happy now?)

OK, that being said, I wonder if there's interest in a romanitc story along those lines.... ?????????

Are there any that beg to be written? I'd be proud to utilize my writing skills to do just that with the same patriotic pride and emotion that motivates me to submit this thread.

It is light romance - I wouldn't call it romance, not of the kind I consider romance - I mean real romance has pirates and buxom women and stuff - not sassy bitchy lezzies.

Mmm, pirates ... that's what you need in scene five. Lose the bar scene, insert a plundering pirate queen and busty countess instead. I challenge you to insert the word "maidenhead" into the story without making me laugh ....

I don't think it would be possible in that story - now in the first story - I'm pretty sure I can work it in without tickling your funny bone.

It would require an elongated breakfast scene with descriptions of "first times" and "did you ever" etc...

A romantic story of a someone returning from war an amputee? I'm thinking Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump now... someone who feels they should have died, lost the will to live... and someone comes along that makes them want to live again...

i was asked once to write some fiction, but yahoo closed my group and took my id. so i lost the email. i'm not sure what i could write about to please our over sea's troops.....i'm not sure that any military wives would want to read my erotica....but i would try

I read a short story once along thses lines and it really touched me. I'd love to read more stories like this. Perhaps even a Vet with PTSD who is pulled out of that by the romance.

Sorry to butt in on your conversation, however, I was just meandering through this bulletin board when I noticed your comment.

Between where I live and Windsor castle (one of the homes of our Queen) there is a town called Maidenhead. To have a pirate come from that town would fit the story nicely though, perhaps not quite what you had in mind.

Returning amputees story...

As a vet with 28+ in USAF as a medic, it would be extremely difficult to concoct an erotic story about this subject. Being in hospital with returnees, I find it hard to interspice the two...
