Hello AH, I'm fairly new to lit and figured I would say hello.

I've been writing erotica and have a few things published on Amazon, All Romance and a couple of other sites.

Another author suggested coming here and maybe putting up a few stories to help gather a following so here I am!

Hoping to have something submitted just after Christmas and looking forward to the feedback I see others getting.

I've been selling for a few months and the downside is reviews are so few and far between I don't get a chance to really know how my work is received.

Hoping that between the personal attacks of the trolls and the overly excited "You're the most awesome author ever" comments I'll get some idea of what works and doesn't work in my stories.

I've had such great fun on this Authors' Hangout, never mind getting much better feedback for stories I uploaded than on any other site I published on. I've got a blogpost about different e publishing sites on my blog Erotica Writers' Bloc if you want to check it out. I wrote there about what it was like to publish on Literotica, I hadn't started on the forum then.
Sometimes there are some weird posts and there seem to be some longstanding personal feuds which you have to just skim over, but there are also some so kind people here and it's been a blast.
If you can't get feedback support in the voting and comments (which I think is pretty rare), you can always come here and people will tell you why that might be.
Cruise about and have fun - there is some seriously witty writing going on and that's just in the threads!

PS I forgot to mention that you can get a volunteer editor to look at your work too. I did try this once and didn't get a response but I think that's unusual. Lots of people mention how much help they've had from editors who read their work from here.

As for the writing on the threads? There's some fun stuff for sure, but not sure witty is a good word for all the posts.

Hi Naoko! I have a blog as well as FB and all the other social media tools you're supposed to use to promote yourself, but I'll be damned if I ever can get myself to post on the damn things.

I use that blog for exploring ideas about other people's work rather than pushing mine. Feel free to check out my thoughts there about Literotica as a publishing engine.
And hope you find some more witty rather than catty comments as you spend time here.

Thank you and I have "seen" the General board in action and have no desire to be there.

I've noted there are some similar threads here as well, but I'm going to stick(or try to stick) to the not so serious threads.

I've heard that about the contests, but I'm one of those in it to win it types, so not sure I could handle the games with the trolls bringing people down, just because well, because they're trolls.
