Hi, I'm back after a long hiatus (2 years with no time for writing), and I'm searching for a new editor and maybe beta readers. I am continuing the story I started in 2018, Nerd Rising, and making good progress. I will have Chapter 2 finished and ready to edit no later than May 10 (revised deadline due to heavy workload, but this one is firm).
I also need someone to help me iron out the plot of a different series I have planned. I need to go ahead and figure it out so I can fully focus on Nerd Rising.
The story in question involves the Incest, Erotic Couplings, Sci-fi/Fantasy, and somewhat non-human genres (though not all at once). Overview: A brother and sister separately have their first sexual encounters and fall into bed together when their powers awaken (they are descended from incubi/succubae). What I need help with is figuring out how they are found by an ancient House of such beings, are recognized as its lost heirs, and how they then take over running the House/family business without some overly cheesy and simplistic pseudo-explanation.
I am reluctant to reveal so much about a story I haven’t truly starting writing outside of my head, but I’m stuck. Please and thank you!
If it helps, my initial inspiration for this story comes from several sources including the White Court from Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files, Lost Boy’s “Spell, Crook, and Handle” series, and my old love of classical mythology. I won’t give away the ultimate destination, but one of the mid-range goals for the main characters is their struggle to come to terms with their power and newfound responsibilities, and their fight to dismantle sex-trafficking rings.
