hello everyone :)
i recently baught a new dildo(made out of rubber) and it has a really bad(sweet) smell!
does anyone knows how to get rid of it?
thank you so much :)

I'd wash it well, then put it outside in a shaded place with good airflow to dry and air out some. If you don't have an outside spot available to you, you could put it in a shady windowsill with the window open (I'd put a piece of white cotton underneath it) and/or put a fan on it. The main thing is to give it time and space to air out, and that could take awhile.

thank you for your answers, i will try that :)
by the way, is that the natural scent of rubber?

ohh, but the site confirmed its 100% phthalate and latex free, could they be lying?
now im scared to use it :(

Just because it doesn't have phthalates or latex doesn't mean it's not made with a bunch of chemicals that probably do smell bad. It almost certainly is, unless it's 100% silicone, glass, stainless, or another non-porous material (none of which should have an odor).

The site could be misinformed or lying, but it's probably not.

Air it out and use condoms with it if it's a porous material, or see if you can return or exchange it due to the overwhelming foul odor that's making you ill. For all you know, the toy could have been manufactured wrong or something.

The only toy we have that came with a strong smell is a rubber dildo that came with our strap-on set. We just let it air out (it still has a rubbery scent after years, but it IS rubber) and always use condoms with it for cleanliness. But I'd try to return a toy that didn't mostly air out in a few days because I'm particularly sensitive to chemical odors.

I would wash it very good with soap and warm water, let it air dry (in a breeze if possible) and always put a condom on it before using it. If the smell is still too strong after washing and airing, you should return it to the company. Using a dildo is supposed to be an entirely pleasant experience!

I always use condoms on my vibrators and dildos just for convenient clean up.
