it's pretty likely something like that will happen, actually. guys in prison realllllllly don't like people like your cousin.

That is a tragic and horrible thing for a person to do to a child.
He won't live very long in prison if they let him out in the general population that's for sure. Personaly I think crimes like that should carry the option of the death penalty.
But he will be dead anyway one way or the other.
