Just thinking that it would be interesting to have a "First Time" category in Lit. Not first time for the characters, but links to the first stories of all the established Lit authors.

hmm interesting idea Earl, though i'd agree on the condition that only Authors could get into the category to read the stories. but in thinking that through, how many other authors want to read somebody else's first attempt?

personally, i'm not sure i'd want to bring to the attention of the readers how badly i started out. though i admit to still receiving some interesting and rather detailed feedback now, from my first story ;)

perhaps it could be called something a little different though as that title rings a bell with the category recently added about first times... it may even have the same name, sorry i've not been in it.

i reckon most of us want to forget the first story we published on lit. but me being a bit of an oddball, i kinda like having it still hanging around. i enjoy taking a peek now and then, it helps me realise exactly what i've learnt since writing it.

interesting idea Earl, thanks for voicing it *hug*

Actually, that's a moderately horrible idea.

I know that ANY of my later stories would be a better link to introduce people to my writing. My first (posted) story has deservedly low scores and bad reviews.

Besdies, there is absolutely no way I'm allowing a link into my abandoned stories folder to show off my first story. Even I don't go there to look at that monstrosity. :p

The idea was actually sparked by the new category WSO. My first story was actually under another nom de plume, but I'm still quite proud of it. Admittedly I'm not that much of a writer and still quite inexperienced having only posted 4 stories, but I think it'd be interesting.

There is a way to identify every posted author's first story post. Just plug in the name of the author in the search engine. A list comes up with the date of each story post for that author.

It can be interesting to read an author's posts in chronological order and appreciate how their writing has evolved. I have done it with a few fellow authors I enjoy.

Search Stories, plug in the author's name and they all come up chronologically. The downside is there's no poetry.

Don't feel too bad. I've only posted 2 and neither one has reached the 3500 readers mark.
