The judge's chambers was pretty quiet after the ruling made regarding Jeff and Nicole's son, would be remaining with his father under full custody. And that left a bad taste in Nicole's mouth. But there was nothing she could do. They had already gone through a messy divorce and it was everyone's opinion that Nicole was a terrible mother for never being home for her family.

At least it was the opinion of Jeff's family and friends.

Keeping her composure, Nicole stood with her lawyer and thanked the judge for his time. Of course, Jeff didn't dare keep any class about it all. He laughed and hugged his lawyer...his female lawyer, thanking her for winning on his behalf.

It took a lot on Nicole's part to not go over to Jeff and punch the smile off his face.

With a huff, Nicole turned and walked out of the courthouse. With the look on her face, no one dared stopped her.

That was 2 weeks ago. Nicole had a hard time telling her only son why Mommy wouldn't be around anymore. Actually it hurt Nicole more than it did to Aaron. He was used to his mother not being there. He asked if she had to go to work and she said yes and that it would be a while before she got to see him again. His "OK Mommy, bye!" broke her heart more than anyone would know.

Now, after insistence from her Commander, Special Agent Nicole Mason, was down in Los Angeles, California on a 'forced vacation'. According to her CO, she needed to time to get herself back together. To find herself.

What the fuck was there to find? Her marriage ended in a bitter divorce, her only child taken from her. Now her job forced her out to collect herself? That didn't seem right. Nicole never felt more at peace than when on a case...which was probably why her marriage suffered.

So, here she was, up way too early for some, out having breakfast alone, nonetheless. This was day 2 of her 'vacation' and she intended to make the most of it. It was the least she could do, right?

Even though she hadn’t known what to do after breakfast, Nicole decided to lose herself in taking in some of the more touristy places and activities around the city. She had gone to the Chinese theatre, the wax museum and a few other little places. None really captured her interested but it was something to do.

It didn’t help that she would assess everyone she encountered…wondering if they were going to cause trouble or had other ulterior motives or what. It was just something of a hazard one got when working in law enforcement, especially for so long.

She thought about the times Jeff had asked her time and time again to take a real vacation with the family but each time she had scheduled something…something else came up. A case would get intense or she would just get so involved with work that she sometimes, forgot about her family.

Yeah, she was a mess, as her husband had told her. It got to the point that Nicole formed a detachment from her husband and his constant requests she be part of the family. Yeah, if she could, she’d probably do it all over again, only this time, pay attention to her husband and child. Be the best mother she could and the best wife she could.

But, Nicole was a realist and knew that wasn’t possible. So, when she thought she could bury herself in her work even more, she was forced to take time off. Oh well, better having to take some time off than having been fired. She felt she was a damn fine agent and recalled some of her best cases to date. Of course, she was awarded different honors and medals but that wasn’t why she did it. She did it get scumbags off the street…stop people from being scammed and do what others couldn’t do and that was bring others to justice.

Sure, feelings were probably hurt along the way but no one saw the bigger picture of it all. A criminal was put behind bars, yes. His family missed him, yes. But what about the other side of the picture, like the families affected by the assholes that did all this? The mother whose son was gunned down because he ‘accidentally’ got in the way of a gang shoot-out which was only going on because some dealer decided to get cocky?!

So yes, she hadn’t made friends along the way. She even lost some too. There were enemies but there were also survivors. Who really was the winner after the day was done?

By the time the evening rolled around, Nicole had decided to go out to dinner. There was a small class restaurant at the corner of the block by her hotel. A little drinking was in order and hell, she might even pick up someone for the night. Like life, the end was limitless.

The small restaurant wasn't crowded. The crowd seemed relaxed. A man had come in earlier and looked around. He and Nicole had made eye contact and he gave her a small salute with his glass after his drink was delivered to him at the bar. Nicole gave him a small smile.

With her third drink down, Nicole was actually starting to enjoy herself. It was a quiet evening and only a few people were about this small establishment. She had decided she wasn't going to eat just yet, seeing as how she had a late dinner but before she was to leave, she was going to order something to go and nibble on it in her hotel room later on tonight.

Her mind was fuzzy and she let herself relax...really relax for the first time in a long while.

The streets were busy with people walking and of course, driving. So, this was a California evening. It seemed nice.

Tonight she was wearing a black dress, probably a little too dressy for this place but it was one of her favorites. Her hair was pulled back into a french twist and her make up was applied expertly.

All dressed up and nothing to do. No one to share it with.

Or maybe, there was...?

The man at the bar was looking at her and so she gave him little glimpses and a small smile. Soon, another drink appeared on her table.

“Wait, I didn't order another one,” she told the waitress. She just smiled and nodded over at the guy at the bar who now started to make his way over.

Looking up at him as he approached, Nicole gave him an obvious once over before asking him, “So, you bought me another drink?”

“Of course, I figured you finished your last drink so I thought, 'that pretty young thing over there needs another', and I did the gentleman thing by being nice.” He raised his glass, “You're welcome.”

Nicole laughed and shook her head as she raised her glass at him, “Thanks, but I'm perfectly capable of buying my own drinks.”

“That may be so, but I might have other intentions like, oh I don't know, coming to say hello and wondering why you're here, drinking alone.”

“Probably the same reason you're here alone.” Sh countered.

The man laughed, “Got it. So, how about we get to know each other?”

And that's what they did. Nicole didn't dare finish the drink he got her, instead only a took a few sips as they continued to trade shots at each other. It was an odd way of flirting but hell, it got the job done because after a half an hour, Nicole let him lead her out of the restaurant and toward his car parked a block down the street.

She was feeling pretty good about this. A good fuck was probably all that she needed. After, it had been...well, a while since she slept with anyone...
It would be a good way to start a vacation.

As they approached the alley between the restaurant and the hotel, the man pushed Nicole a little toward the alley, “Hey, we can cut through here.”

“Nah, I can walk around,” Nicole said as she started forward again but was immediately stopped when the man grabbed her by the arm.

On instinct, Nicole yanked her arm away, “What the fuck man, I said--” she was cut off when he grabbed her arm again.

Well, that was his second mistake.

Nicole balled up her right fist as the man held her left arm tightly and yanked her with him. She pulled back and punched up into his face and the sound of cartilage breaking beneath her fist and he let go as he screamed in pain. Nicole stood over him and would have love to enjoy the site of the man bleeding and holding his broken nose, “You fuck!” She spat and when she started to turn around, she was grabbed from behind.

In her tipsy state, Nicole would have sensed that this was an ambush of sorts but no, she wasn't on point after so many drinks and she cursed out loud for it...for being so stupid!

She pushed hard against the one behind her and they hit the wall, which she had hoped would make him lose his grip from the hit but it didn't. The first man on the ground got up, still holding his nose and cursing obscenities at Nicole as he came up to her and punched her in the stomach which made her gasp for breath.

The two men started to argue...something about they were not supposed to touch her!

“Shut up and fucking get the rag over her mouth!”

“I'm sort of busy holding her Rod!”

More cursing as the one that picked Nicole up picked something from the ground and took a quick whiff of it and made a face before rushing over to Nicole and shoving the cloth in her face.

The smell of the chemical was familiar. She had smelt it before...then the man pressed the cloth against Nicole's mouth and nose and even with the fighting she was trying to do, it didn't help because it made her inhale deeper, which in turn made her take in more of the chloroform.

She started to get nauseous...then dizzy... things got shaky and then it started to get dark.

Finally, after about 5 minutes of them holding the cloth in her face, Nicole finally slumped in their grasp.

Nicole continued to remain passed out from the chloroform drugging earlier for another 10 minutes or so. As she started to wake, her stomach churned and she groaned as she started to move her arm to cover her eyes.

But she couldn't.

She cracked her eyes opened and looked down at why she couldn't move her arm...actually her arms! Her eyes then shot open wide and she gasped as she struggled to sit up.

“What the fuck?!” She exclaimed when she realized she was in a straight jacket.

All during this time, she hadn't noticed the man sitting just off to the side of the bed.

Nicole sat up this time, realizing now what held her back so she was able to sit up without too much difficulty. Her long hair got in her face as she fought it before coming to the conclusion that she couldn't get out of it. Then her gaze traveled down her legs and that's when she noticed the shackle.

It took another few moments to notice that she wasn't alone as she followed the chain from her ankle and toward the floor.

Then, as if in one sudden wash of memories, it all came flooding back to her.

That asshole she was going to take back to her room..that asshole shoving her into the alleyway!

Another asshole grabbing her from behind and the struggling and fighting.

At least she also remembered clocking one of them in the face and he cried out before gushing blood everywhere.

Then, Nicole heard someone clear their throat.

As if moving in slow motion, she raised her head and looked toward to whomever made that sound and her heart dipped into her stomach.

A wave emotion washed over Nicole as she figured out how to react. Her first thought was to lunge at him but knew she couldn't do that if her arms were bound as well as her ankle.

Instead, she just looked at the man.

The man named Walt.

With her hands balling into fists in both frustration and pleasure, Nicole threw her head back from the pleasure he had brought her to. She closed her eyes tightly and silently cursed herself for letting him do that to her.

Her legs fought against the restraints but it did no good. Everything she did to fight him didn't do any good. He was going to have his way with her and she had to face it that there was nothing she could about it.

Should she succumb to it? Did she have a choice? There were a million questions about it. Whether or not she enjoyed it wasn't the thing there, because in the end, he had plans to make sure she ended up pregnant with his child. But about afterward? If she did have his child? Would he let her go then? But then again...she wouldn't leave without a child she bore, no matter who the father was...

Her body came down from the height of the pleasure of the orgasm and Nicole's body finally relaxed. She didn't want to look at the man anymore. She didn't want to see what he was going to do next...

Nicole had no choice but to fall asleep in the awkward position and with the head phones on, with the same saying playing over and over in her head.

This couldn't be it. This wasn't how she was going to lose.... No. She had to keep up her defenses with Walt. It hurt with what he was doing but she couldn't let it show...

***
The next morning, she was being awaken with a hard slap to the ass. She didnt want to move or obey but she needed to move her body from it's cramped up position.

Moaning, she stirred and felt the blindfold and headphones being yanked off of her face and head. She blinked at the brightness of the room and saw the doctor from before standing there.

Along with Walt.

It was a set up.

Nicole knew she couldn't trust this doctor. She also knew she couldn't kill her as the doctor was right-she was Nicole's only 'ally' at the moment.

Of course, Nicole could play into this, pretend she trusted her. But even that was a dangerous game to play.

When the doctor removed the gag, Nicole flexed her jaw a bit and sighed. Her mouth her and where the band dug into her skin hurt too. Her mouth was dry as was her throat. God, she was a mess.

Leaning her head back on the board, Nicole shook her head. Now wasn't the time to play games. She didn't bother to answer the doctor. Instead, she just stayed silent as her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts.
