New Battlestar Galatica

Tired of standard RPG's? then try some tactical RPGs, they're great, I love em, only problem is they're really rare. I highly reccomend final fantasy tactics, best game ever in my opinion :). These of course are video games, I dunno if you're talking about some other kind of rpg, or something, most of you are at least a generation above me so I dunno.

ROFLMAO!!!!

Sorry - Nothing personal there..

You have to realize though ..I still have my dice from when D&D came in a blue box, and dice were included cause you couldn't find em anywhere. And AD&D, was the stuff you made up cause the modules bit the bag.
And I am playing in this game with a fellow who played D&D when it was a single book..All by itself.
Hell, he played Chainmail.. The game that D&D was based off of.

Yeah Paranoia is an RPG ..of sorts... It is a VERY freewheeling type of game. It can be run in a couple of different ways..
Hmmm..

Have a good day Citizen.

haha, I play video games that use D&D rules, you can see the little window at the bottom "offhand: Striker kenital attacks; roll: 12 + 23 = 35 *miss*" etc. etc. That, of course, is a character called striker attacking with his offhand weapon, rolling a 12 (using a 20-sided dice) and missing (the enemy must have an Armour class of 36, or higher, to avoid getting hit). Those games are called AD&D (advanced dungeons and dragons). The most common one you'll see is called "Neverwinter Nights", it's also the newest. a company called Bioware makes these games, it has also made "Baldurs Gate" (a fave of mine also) and Icewind Dale.

Twilight: 2000 is possibly the most tactical "roleplaying" game out there . . . and one that I truly love . . . of course, if you're THAT young you've probably never heard of it. It was an eighties thing.

Okay, folks, we've totally hijacked this thread with game talk. Who's gonna start an RPG thread?

hehehe, I wasn't even alive until later on in the eighties :). Final fantasy tactics is for the playstation, it is an older game, at least from my view point.

Yes the new Starbuck still smokes her cigars and gambles. However there's also the backstory that she was in love with Apollo's brother.

Just to tease DVS:

She spent a good chunk of a scene in the little white number with one strap fallen off her shoulder. YUM!

yes and boomer is also a chick who might be a cylone. the seris is ok but i think they should have let richard hatch write the story line and bring back the old cast and let a few years have gone by as they did in the books he has writen.

My .02

I was eight or so when the original series ran on television, and it didn't leave enough of an impression on me for details of the storyline to stick. So, it was with sparse and vague memories of the original that I sat down to watch the new series.

Color me impressed. I'm sold on all of the characters that they've offered. There is an organic connection between the characters that rarely shows so early in a series like this. (I remember watching early episodes of The Next Generation... scary. Thankfully they grew into their characters).

I love Starbuck as a woman. I think the actress carries it off very well. The moment between her and Adama in last night's episode was fantastic. Olmos, of course, is amazing.

I could go on... but I have a meeting to attend ;)

Oh, to the earlier question: I'm on the dominant side of a 24/7 D/s relationship and I still play D&D. I'm the Dungeonmaster, of course ;)

Might be a cylon? I don't think there's any question at all. At least ONE of the two Boomers on the show has got to be a cylon . . . and possibly both of them are. If either of them is human, I'm betting it's the one wandering around on Caprica. The one on the ship has just been acting too damned hinky. Bad news for the Galactica, I'm thinking.

The mini series is being shown here (Sydney Aus) this Friday and Saturday night *note to self, buy more blank videotapes* :D

There's an interview and picture series with Grace Park (Boomer) in the latest issue of Maxim magazine. Man, there's someone I'd like to get bent over the arm of a couch, a belt in my hand (just to keep the thread somewhat BDSM related  ) . . .

I think the Boomer on Caprica is the cylon, having the cylon on the Galatica is too predictable.....maybe both of them are Cylons

In the latest episode Apollo "interrogated" (totally ineffectually) a discovered cylon agent. Actually, she tortured the living shit out of him while gaining no useful information whatsoever. She's no domme, that's for sure, but I'm pretty sure she's got a BIG sadistic streak. She just enjoyed the job too damn much not to . . . :p

BattleStar Wave

BattleStar Galactica is rocking in my opinion. The way it has been set up with the various copies of the cylons who impersonate humans gives it excellent potential for future storylines and suspense-filled drama. If they continue down the right path this could be the next big sci-fi series! I watch it every Friday.
as far as Starbucks being a girl, it is a bit odd. But she's fairly hot so I wont complain. And she is doing a good job with the role.
