As a "new author" I have a comment. My story was critical of it's literary content. Let me just say this in my defense. I share what I have written of what I enjoy. Putting together a story that I am interested in, and is from my own imagination. I am not concerned if the wording is exactly correct, after all I am not writing a novel and how many readers care if the story is grammatically correct.
If I read a story, I am drawn in by it's content. I have to say that I have read some interesting stories where the grammar was pretty bad. But then I am not reading for the grammar.
If the voting has to be about the correct way of writing, then critique a novel, not the ones who submit stories here.

I searched your username and found this story https://www.literotica.com/s/a-feminine-touch?page=6 which has two comments. I presume you are referring to the second comment in your opening post.

I read the first and last pages of your story. I would have read more but it was difficult. I could see a good thread running through it; a theme of awakening and exploration which often makes for a good story in the lesbian category.

The comments on your submission were quite polite and understated. Your story could have benefited greatly from a good editor. You had the bones of a good read but took short-cuts with grammar and structure and were lazy with abbreviations and spelling. Your readers are intelligent people and expect a certain level of effort put into making a good story readable.

Grammar and literacy contribute greatly to readability. You want it to be easy for your readers to consume your story. If story is the food, then grammar, spelling, character development, structure and all the other literary devices are the cutlery, condiments and plates. A story will be okay without them but it's a bloody mess to eat. If you're cooking for yourself then take all the shortcuts you like and eat with your fingers but if you are cooking for others, set a nice table and make the food easy to eat.

There is no shame in requiring an editor. There are many authors who are great story-tellers but who do not have the level of literacy to communicate it well in writing. These people use editors to get their story across in its best possible form.

There are also a great many authors who are technically perfect with their grasp of language but who do not have a creative bone in their body. They are unfortunately the ones who cannot be helped.

Don't be discouraged. The more you write, the better your writing will become.

If you searched my contributions you'd see I'm not perfect either and I'm thankful for all the comments even the negative ones that help me improve. If I didn't want comments I'd keep my stories to myself.
