Of Silk and Iron - New Medieval Fantasy Story (New author + submission questions)

First of all, apologies for the terrible title. I went through about 10 different ones trying to be descriptive. I failed.

First of all, I started writing a story a few weeks ago, I had a place I wanted it to go and I wanted it to have some more plot than "it just happened" - enough sidestepping the truth, it contains non-consential sex. It is, however, included to demonstrate the changing attitude in the protagonist. After chapter 3 (which I am currently writing) it becomes consential sex and I guess, if it were possible for a person to consent in hindsight, she would do such. I see that there is a NonConsent section in Literotica, I was primarily checking that my story wasn't going to get rejected on the grounds that my first 2 chapters were morally wrong.

Secondly. I didn't write the story with any site in mind for posting it to. Indeed, much as I have read stories on Literotica, I wasn't aware of any particular submission process... I read that all stories have to be a minimum 750 words. I have written my story as a prologue followed by several chapters. The prologue is 611 words (including disclaimer, title etc) but I feel really reluctant combining it with chapter 1. Is it possible to submit the story so that it would somehow still stay seperate. Following chapters are currently at 1766 and 2078 words in length.

Quick summary of the story (medieval/fantasy)
Protagonist lives the perfect life with her strong, friendly husband. She gets raped infront of her husband and kidnapped. She then gets used as a toy, to start off with by the guards then, later, a noble. She changes her opinion of sex and starts enjoying, not only the sex, but being totally submissive.

Currently that's about as far as I've got written and solidly planned out. I have quite a few more ideas but no chronological order in which to include them yet

Thanks in advance

Easiest method would be to simply put the prologue and first chapter together. Though if you are loathe to do that, then you either not have a prologue or you make it wordier.

As I said, I wanted the prologue to be a noticably separate part of the story. I really would rather not join it with the first chapter. I will try and add an odd word here and there. a hundred words shouldn't be too much of an issue. Thanks for your quick reply. Will probably try and submit the prologue tonight sometime then.

I tried to change the thread title, but it only changed my own post one :(

Just trying my hand at uploading it (got it to exactly 750 words, header included)

One thing you might want to consider, is submitted all three together. 4000 words really isn't that long for a lit story. Also unless the prologue is really good and gripping, a lot of people won't read the other two.

Less is More

I have 140 stories posted on Lit - I know, a mere newby, but I'll share my experience anyway. I have one that is 15 Lit pages long, but my more recent ones are 1 page. I used to try to only post when I had 7500 words, but have since learned that in some instances shorter is better. So lately I've been posting at 3-4k words as the story allows. It seems more readers actually "read" a shorter story rather than skip through it.

So that's my humble opinion at any rate. Less is, often times, more.

Hope this helps.

I agree a lit page is good, but 1700 words is more like half a lit page. 600 words barely fills a screen.

I think the bare minimum is 700.

I'm just sharing my experience is all. I'm not looking to shake anyone's world. And hey, buddy, hoping you're having a great 4th. Course we're both here, so what does that say? LOL
