New Author: submission approval wait time

Hello, Fellow authors and editors!

I was wondering. How long does it typically take to have a submission approved and posted? I submitted a story about a week ago and still don't see if it's been approved or not. Does the wait time vary? Does it matter if I submitted in .doc format? I'd really like to start suibmitting more, but I really want to wait until I get some feed back from my first story. Any input is welcome.

Most of mine are taking two days to post now. A recent one didn't post after five days and I queried the site editor, Laurel, in the PM message system and it went right up. Have you not clicked on the pending button in this time? (If so, it went back to the end of the submissions queue.) And it doesn't say "rejected" where the pending sign usually is beside the story listing on your submissions page? If there's a "rejected" listed there, click on that and it will give you a reason--formed in the phrasing of a question. That may be pointing to a real problem or may just be questioning a possibility. If you don't think you've done what it's question, you can just resend it with a note in the notes box explaining your reasoning. Best of luck in getting it through.
