I recently submitted my first story after carefully reading all of the FAQ's and other guidelines. I do have one thing I am not quite clear on, though.

My story is still pending (I submitted it on Thursday, Oct 13th). I have gone and looked to check the status and today I noticed it says my last submission was on October 17th (tomorrow in my time zone). Have I somehow made the computer system believe I made changes to the submission, which would move it back in the approval queue? I have not made any changes, nor have I hit the 'save changes' button.

Thank you in advance for any assistance with this.

That means that your story is going to go up tomorrow morning. This does not happen all the time, but sometimes you will see this. Look at the word pending, it will no longer be blue but 'blocked out" and you can't click on it.

So congrats! Your first work will be post tomorrow!

*smiles* yes, my story is quite relevant to my nom-de-plume. It is in the BDSM category. I will post the link as soon as it is 'live'.

I look forward to hearing opinions and critiques as I hone my writing skills.

How reassuring to see the The Question is still being posted after my two year sabbatical

I apologize for asking something people that are not new were aware of. I did attempt to find the answer prior to posting. Perhaps I worded my search query wrong. :-(

No worries sweetie, it's impossible for any new author NOT to ask this question while waiting eagerly for their first submission to be posted. I think everyone of the authors here has posted it at one time or another. I know I certainly did after I submitted my first story back in 02!

EDIT: Lit date and times occasionally go wrong when Laurel has her period

:) Ok. I really will try not to ask too many rank newbie questions.
