Hi,
I am new to the site and am actually working on what I hope to be a complete novel. would like to put some of the work up and see what people think however I know (especially by my first rejection) that I need some help with my grammar I am 40 and its been a looong time since English 4 in senior year. I have tried to contact three editors and have gotten nowhere. Is there someone willing to help out? I would greatly appreciate any time someone could give me.

You might get a better response if you specify the genre of your story (eg romance, non-consent, incest, gay male, lesbian, etc), the help you feel you need (e.g. grammar only, grammar and continuity, etc.), and its length (in words) as these factors play a large part in a volunteer editor's decision whether to offer help.

I'm working on my first editing job, but since I'm completely retired I'm free to take you on. You may want to check out a post that I started in the the Editor's Forum called, "Dialogue vs. Narrative." It started a pretty nice discussion. You may want to read it and the threads it generated before you give me a try.

In the meantime, would you send me a short, unedited chapter just so I can have an of what I can expect? I'll let you know where to send it if you decide to chance it with me. No commitments at this point.

tootallday

I'm relatively new also but would be willing to have a read and give an opinion to you.
