This anonymous messaging thing ... why? ... why anonymous? It is very frustrating, especially when you leave feedback with questions, even more so when they are questions I would like to answer and perhaps discuss further. Whoever you are in "Madagascar", let me know who you are so I may respond to your questions please. Thanks ...

I don't want to turn the feedback off because I crave the comments and attention, but good or bad, let me know who you are so I can respond.

Hi Jelly and welcome to the asylum.

The 'issue' of Anonymous has been ricocheting round the site since it was launched.

Briefly, anyone who leaves a public comment and is not a member has to be anonymous - makes sense. Whether they say you're the next Dan Brown or your story isn't worth zilch, you can't respond.

When someone sends you a private comment, they get the chance to add their e-mail address. If they don't, it may just be that they don't want to start a correspondence, but if the anon mail is abusive, just delete it and move on.

Welcome to a community where there are happy writing fish, many happy reading fish, and mean sharks. The sharks try to devour the happy writing fish for the simple pleasure of knowing that if they succeed, they may deprive the happy reading fish of the pleasure provided by the happy writing fish and may then become their prey.

Science is still trying to determine what made the sharks what they are. It may be the inability to read, to write, or that they just may be 'wired' that way. Some fish are simply evil.

In the end, elfin is SO RIGHT! I've posted many stories, been snubbed many times, have cried and complained in these forums, and have received nothing but acknowledgement, love, and appreciation. And a HUGE hug.

I've even left, promising never to darken these hallowed halls of cyberspace. Yet here I am again.

If you've been pre-selected to be a writing fish, write. I know from personal experience that it's difficult not to do what's natural. Don't keep the sharks from your pre-ordained destiny.
