New $200 Computer Mouse Solved my Carpal Tunnel Problem

After typing for decades I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand, and cubital tunnel syndrome in my left. Carpal affects the thumb and wrist. Cubital affects the little finger and ring finger.

The carpal tunnel makes it difficult for me to grasp and use the mouse and it's getting worse, so I decided to see if there is an alternative to the traditional mouse. It turns out there is and it's called the "Rollermouse Pro2" by Contour.

There are several YouTube videos if you would like to find out more about it.

The Pro2 is plug-and-play with no software required. Windows automatically detects the device and treats it like a regular mouse. After installation the cursor moved too fast, so I went into the Windows Control Panel and slowed it down.

Instead of having to grasp a traditional mouse using your hand in a claw-like fashion, the Pro2 is operated with your hands flat. Also, you can use it with either hand, or both.

I highly recommend the Pro2 for anyone with a syndrome, or anyone that would like to prevent getting a syndrome in the future, and also those with limited use of their hands. The $199 price tag (Amazon) may be a little steep for a mouse, but for me, it's worth every penny and I will never go back to a traditional mouse.

One feature that I like is the "double click" button which is located between the left and right mouse buttons.
