Hey guys, I just started a story based on the game 'Neverwinter Nights'. I've worked pretty hard at it, and hopefully it'll be approved soon. In the meantime, I ask that maybe some of you could check it out, read it, add to it, tell me your thoughts about it. It has humour, a dark side, and most importantly, it's got the mandatory sex. So please, here's the link, just take a look-see if you can, thanks.

Somebody? Anybody? C'mon, I put quite a bit of effort into starting this story, please don't let it go to waste :( . Just comments, or maybe just adding to it. It's all good.

style quibbles + good luck!

Several times you use "to many" when you should use "too many".

The reality-changing demigod thread refers to a magical laptop and Java and C++ programming skills, which seem at odds with what is otherwise a medieval-style fantasy.

I'm not familiar with Neverwinter Nights, so can't speak to how it matches up.

Also: Chyoo's activity is a little slow...you may just have to wait, add suggestive threads to develop your storylines, and keep reminding people that you're out there. (And/or add to any active stories whose editors might reciprocate).

Good luck,

-Z.

I KNOW that, C'MON  There isn't any medieval alarm called energy orbs of time either :D . Kudos is a Planar creature, (for those who are D&D impaired), with Kudos he is a very POWERFUL Planar. Usually, Planar types are quite bounded, but in this case, this is what happens when a poweful planar gets "off the leash" so to speak.

... In short, it's a wee joke. Laugh it up... haha

I'll fix everything else you mentioned, thanks for the input

'Neverwinter Nights'

I have played D&D since the 1st edition so I am initmatly familar with the genre. I have never seen Neverwinter Nights so I am a little blind on the background. How picky are you going to be on the setting? Do you have a link that could get me up to speed on the basics of the setting?

Let me know. I would love to add to it, but I don't want to waste my time.

:D

Setting? Easy, medieval fantasy. If your unfamiliar with NWN characters, then I welcome BG(Baldur's Gate), BG2, and other famous characters from the D&D universe. Like's Drizzt's wife, ( I don't know her name, and I apologize if that offends you :( ). For more info on Neverwinter Nights, here's a link to a handy site.

Anyone else? Anyone find my story at least "vaguely" interesting? :(

*whew* promoting a new story is harder then I thought.

well take in consideration most people dont know this board exist

so when your story accepted you should get more people adding to it.

Just be pantient grasshopper.

He is right about that. Due to there being no link from Chyoo back to the lit boards very few people actually visit the boards. You also have a tough subject as it is a pretty specific universe and will only appeal to a small slice of the writers.

Give me some time and I will drop a few threads on it and see if you like the direction.

:D

Sounds just dandy! :D

When I wrote this story, I tried to do it so that even someone who's completely oblivious to D&D can add to it. Hopefully, when it get's 'accepted', it'll pick up pace.

So your cool with the story going in direction that is consistent with a midevil world, not necessarily exactly Neverwinter Nights? I just don't want to start down a path that you don't like as it is not consistent with the world you imagined?

:D

What you did is completely fine with me. Nymphs, and dryads have their part in the D&D universe. If you havn't done it, I'm sure another d&d fan would have done it sooner or later. :D

I just added two more for JoeBob, I hope it'll 'fly' with the CHYOO moderators.

I take it back. I hope the ENTIRE STORY will 'fly' with the CHYOO moderators. If only this CHYOO forum was just a wee bit more popular eh?
:(

AS you can see, havn't updated my story recently. I just moved to Windsor.

But fear not, I just got my internet up, and will be adding more shortly.

... if you care that is :D .

Updated

Added 1 for Dante.

Don't leave me alone here. If anyone wants to add, then please do. Feel free... really.

It's just no fun writing this story by myself. :(

I've added enough to my own thread, to try and kick things off. So please, be sure to check mine out and add to your hearts content.

... even though it's not as 'famous' as the other stories around here.

Your post reminded me that I had never added a thread to this story. I was intimidated by my lack of knowledge on the background of Neverwinter, but think I have a plot line that will work. Take a look at the first thread I just added and let me know. I am an avid D&D player so I really like the general idea of the story.

Thanks.

:D

No, thank YOU!

No one has added to my stories in ages! I do wish this forum was a bit more known about sometimes, if you know what I mean.

I just found this story, and it looks very interesting. I like the threads that have started, so far. My faves are the Dante and Kudos threads.

I'm sure there are a lot of standard fantasy cliches and themes that could be protrayed in NWN, since it is D&D-based. If I add to this thread, I'd just use those fantasy standards, as I'm unfamiliar with NWN. Maybe I'll use the bioware site for names and places.

Keep up the good work.

BTW, on the difficulty in getting folks writing on your threads. I have the same problem. I have two threads (both not accepted yet) that have no outside writers (His Son's Friends and Lawn Boy), and they've been around longer than yours. That said, I have had a few writers add to The Mailroom Guy, and that pleases me.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Patience will win out.

Thanks for your support. :D

I too have seen many a thread meet their demise. It's the constant whining I do that keeps my threads alive! :p

this is awesome, for once someone writes something in Forgotten Realms, I'll check it out. Hope you have some good starting characters.

ps. I didn't read the whole thread.

Thanks. I thought my story would NEVER get updated! :D

If only their were more authors who know about Neverwinter Nights like you do.
