Hi and welcome to the Lit SRP Family *S.
I'd suggest that you read Hecate's Sticky up at the top of the story listing and SweetP's too as both will give you great basic ideas on how things work and the rules.
Once that's done read any of the stories that sound interesting to you for an idea of how things flow.
After that all you have to do is locate a story that you'd like to join that's not marked as closed (for those writers in it only) and once you've found one PM the story starter and ask if you can join it and it would help them if you include a bit about the character you'd like to bring into the story, orrrrr you can just use the "New Thread" button, upper right corner, to begin a story of your own.
