It's true of so many things in life, the importance of learning, of experiencing and trying new things. I will admit that for some time now I have been sort of stagnant as far as BDSM goes. I hadn't really tried anything new, consequently, I hadn't really grown. Recently, however. I have opened up to after new avenues of play, maybe just mindsets, maybe just"flavors", but new none the less. Either way, I went into things with an open mind and realized I'd forgotten to grow for a time. It felt good to experience something fresh to me.

For me, it's been DD/lg, more specifically the realization that, while I'd been quick to shut the very idea down for a long time, I had no idea of what it actually entailed. I'll be honest, I judged it harshly based on limited to no information as to what it was. Not sure it'll stay a part of the tool box, but it's worth exploration.

What about the rest of the community, what was the most recent aspect of BDSM you explored for the first time?

I had a similar thought about DD/bg, but an experience certainly brought me around on that concept.

What's new for me now is to be in a relationship with someone with a similar level of experience and shared interests in BDSM, someone with whom I can explore and learn together. In the past, I've been with partners with considerably more experience and, upon reflection, I know I felt an imbalance. Not just because I was the submissive partner, but because I always wondered how I matched up to previous partners. (Not the healthiest of practices, I know). With my current partner, with our compatibility and interests and similar experience (and similar lack of experience) we are having a wonderful time trying new things. It's been a lovely slow build thus far.

As per my presentation, I'm in the learning process, and of course, your is a good and shared point of view, never stop learning. But so far is not applying to me. Anyway, for answer your question, the most recent aspect of the BDSM is the Bondage, and I simply love it. I've to study it harder, but so far all the experiences I had were great!

This is just my opinion, and I know that there are others who will disagree. But you know what, those disagreements will be nothing more than their opinions as well. So...

My advice, if your into the bondage aspects, is start with physiology; know where not to apply pressure, know where the natural tourniquets are found in the body, how the joints work, the effects of pressure and rotation on them as well. Consider the intense pain Aikido practitioners can inflict with a simple wrist rotation (see the Nikyo technique).

Once you understand the body, the rest is much simpler, though still challenging. But it's also safer, when you can look at and recognize the risks of what you want to master.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check them out. Also, can you suggest a good manual I'll appreciate! :D
