With three little kids, I don't get out to see too many movies.

However, I subscribed to netflix about a month ago (I'm not an invester, but I wish I was) and I'm catching up.

Hard Eight: Draaah? Didn't you recommend this? Worst movie I've evern seen! I couldn't even finish it. What was the fucking point? Anybody?

Go: Surprisingly good. One look at the cast and I would have thought summer teen movie, but I it was surprisingly entertaining.

Snake Eyes: I love Nicholas Cage, but I thought this move was pretty much a waste of time.

I love that movie! I'm gonna have to rent it again.

This is the only one I have seen. I am definitely of the same opinion. I sat through the whole thing, only because of Nicolas Cage.

Netflix is about the coolest thing ever. I've got something like 200 movies on my list.

A couple movies for Ruby.........

My Life As A House.....Kevin Kline
K-Pax......Kevin Spacey

Check out these two flicks, probably 2 of the best I have seen this year.:)

April, Kevin Kline and Kevin Spacey are two of my favorite actors. How did you know? Thanks - I'll add those to my list.

Caroline, it rocks, doesn't it? we usually watch 2-3 movies a week now.

I use Netflix.

Stay away from The Musketeer. It's a very, very, VERY, ( did I mention very ? ) bad remake of yet again The Three Musketeers.

Now I love Musketeer movies. I own just about all of them. This one just left me shaking my head saying ... I am glad I did not waste my money at the theater on this crap.

I like netflix. This is my second go around with them, and I have not had any problems with them at all.

I don't use netflix

If I want an opinion about a movie, I'll ask someone who's seen it.

Or I'll go see it myself.

Last good movie I saw was The Opposite of Sex.

I wasn't all that impressed with this one. Yeah, wahtshisname was great, but the plot just kinda shriveled.

Memento

Have you seen that movie ?
For some reason I enjoyed it a lot... I very highly recommend it.

:)

So what's the current consensus on Netflix? Any bad experiences? Are the discs in reasonably good shape? I'm thinking of starting a membership.

For anyone who rents a lot of dvd's I would recomend investing in the disk dr. I t will repair almost all scratches on the disks. It is also very good if you have kids and they play video games too.

Wow, this is an old thread.

April, I've had nothing but great experiences with Netflix. The disks are in great shape and they get them right out to you. The handy, postage-paid return envelope is great too.

Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le Pacte des Loups) is excellent. It can be a simple suspense/action film or a historical statement on film. You get the latter if you know much about The Knights Templar.

On a lighter note, I enjoyed Ocean's Eleven.

Hey sweets!:)
I have been out of town and am now trying to get back to my routine. I haven't forgotten about the list! I could use some more to go on, this thread helped though. Maybe i should write up a questionare? hmm.

Another movie i liked with Spacey is Swimming with Sharks, btw.

Hiya Peter. Been a good boy today?

Mostly yes. Got in trouble for a post about prostitutes. Other than that all smooth sailing.

I wont bother asking if Ruby has been a good girl. I know that answer without asking the question.

The Last Castle with Robert Redford and James Gandolfini had some meaningful messages.

Spy Game was exciting, interesting, and thought provoking.

Training Day wasn't for everyone but most agree the performances were superb. However I think the concept, script, and messages were relayed very effectively.

O Brother Where Art Thou is a keeper.

The Mothman Prophecies was widely slept on but it bends your brain slightly.

Profound movies don't always have to be "art-house" and independent.

How does it work, Ez? My audio cd's are a mess. Just bought one two weeks ago that I scratched and can't buff the marks out. Ruined the disk.

It's trading at less than $10 a share...my be worth picking upa couple of hundred shares...

I always get terrible buyer's remorse. LOL One of those cautious, check-it-out type of people. *sigh* The only thing I never regret buying is a book. Anyway, thanks for the info. I guess I'll take the plunge soon. It looks like that's the only way to get some of the new movies.
