Two middle-aged married couples, all of whom were virgins when they married, are best of friends. They go out to dinner together, they play bridge together, they golf together, etc. But all are secretly bored with their sex lives.
One night, out to dinner, with a little too much wine, the subject of sex getting boring after fifteen years of marriage comes up. One of them, perhaps jokingly, suggests they try a partner swap. They are all tipsy enough to agree, planning for the husbands to come to the houses of the other wives the next night at 8 pm.
In the morning, each individual wakes up with misgivings. But they all decide to go through with it. Each husband kisses his wife goodbye, and drives to the other couple's house.
And then what? A skilled author can intercut the action between the two houses, with the two nervous couples dealing with their situations, hopefully in an amusing yet arousing manner.
