What is the difference between nerds and geeks? I could never figure it out, but I know I fit in somewhere. :/ Which do you prefer and why?

Nerds know exactly one thing extremely well, and little about other things. You might call it an obsession. They achieve this at the expense of social skills.

Geeks have a number of interests that they may not know as deeply as nerds know one subject. They tend to trade in that deeper knowledge of one subject in favor of being more social, sometimes marginally more than nerds. There are geeks that are very deeply knowledgeable about a whole lot of subjects (often technology-related), but they achieve this at the expense of social skills.
