I was informed over dinner this evening that the nerd in one of my WIPs wasn't sexy because I didn't describe him as wearing glasses.

Somebody has been telling you bovine excrement. I had a friend IRL who was a quintessential nerd but with 20-20 vision. He got the same action or lack thereof as any other nerd would have in that place and time. OTOH, there are ultra-non-nerdy people with bad eyesight.

Lynda is the one true Wonder Woman, but this lady is an extraordinary backup, and just about as easy on the eyes.
