Story Synopsis
Warren Shane is a hotshot politician from New York who just five years ago made his first successful bid for Senate. Charming, charismatic, and confident Warren Shane strikes as the ideal man of the people. A perception further solidified by the presence of his beautiful and brilliant wife, Dr. Leliana Shane at his side. Formerly Dr. Leliana O'Connelly, Leliana is a first generation Irish American who worked her way out of the slums and in to Harvard Medical before graduating top of her class. A self made success looking to be a star in the neurosurgical field Leliana and Warren had a romantic whirlwind of a very public courtship and married shortly before Warren was elected to Senate. At the time Leliana had thought she was living a dream. Five years later and she's well aware she signed on for a nightmare.

Warren was nothing like the man she had dated once they married. Now that she could see behind the charming facade he put on for the public she knew who he really was. A manipulative, unfeeling, snake. But she had married him and the scrutiny of the public eye as the wife of a senator proved far greater a means of control than any threat. So she stayed with Warren and played her part in public while the two retained cold indifference in private.

That is until one day Warren receives a letter. The letter is a death threat, not against Warren's own life, but his wife's. In response to this threat Warren appoints a single personal bodyguard to Leliana, the head of his security staff. Warren clearly not taking the threat seriously until an attempt is made on her life in their own home. In response Warren sends Leliana off with her bodyguard to an undisclosed location.

Alone with a brooding stranger in a secluded cabin but with her life in peril what will Leliana do. Away from the prison of the public eye and her unfeeling control freak husband will fear ignite dormant desire? Or will the line of professionalism between client and bodyguard be maintained.

Charming, charismatic, and a complete manipulative asshole. Warren comes from a wealthy family. His mother an heiress to an international shipping company and his father a stockbroker. From an early age Warren Shane discovered that wit, charm, and affluence were the three key ingredients to getting his way in life and ran with it. By the time Warren graduated Harvard Law he'd already mastered the art of talking anyone in to seeing and doing things his way. So it only made sense that one day her would enter politics. Warren is a shrewd politician and a very capable actor. Playing the part of the humble people minded Senator and doting husband for the cameras. But behind the scenes Warren is a self centered cold blooded reptile. A notorious and blatant womanizer with little care or regard for his wife other than making sure she plays her part.

The oldest of four children of two Irish immigrants. Raised in the slums Leliana worked hard to help her parents and care for her siblings all while maintaining a flawless academic record. Brilliant, dedicated, and loyal Leliana pushed herself to not only meet her own dreams but to care for her family along the way. Graduating high school with a perfect 4.0 she received a full scholarship to Harvard Medical and still worked part time through college to support herself and her family back home. Leliana met Warren not long before she completed her doctorate and the two instantly seemed to click despite their different backgrounds. Leliana's open and loyal nature proving her weakness after she married Warren and discovered who he truly was. None the less Leliana married him and with her life in the spotlight she flawlessly plays the part of the perfect Senators wife. Brilliant, poised, kind, and adoring on camera. But behind closed doors a cold indifference burns between Warren and Leliana as she stifles within their marriage unable to do what she loves or even feel loved, dulling the once fiery woman down to an apathetic almost robotic state...though her temper with Warren often flares through in private.
