OK, I know someone has to have had this issue at least once or twice. I babysit a two year old on a regular basis. Her bed is pretty much a cushioned play pen. My problem is that this child likes to move the bed from side to side until she can get into the curtains. I tried talking to her guardian but she doesn't have anything else to put the kid in. How do I stop her from moving it? I am so afraid she'll hang herself in the blinds or curtains when I am not looking. She takes naps in that thing and its making me a little paranoid.

Is the playpen on a wood floor? I'd try putting some rubber under the feet to stop it sliding, see if that works. They sell these rubber placemats to stop your plates sliding on a table, so maybe tie one of those around each leg.

That would make me paranoid too!

The rubber sounds good to me.

Or you could pull the bed away from the window when she sleeps?
Or put the bed in a corner and when she goes to bed and put a chair or something against it?

have you considered using a baby monitor so that you can hear when the child is awake. It would keep her from being unsupervised after her nap and could provide some assurance if you want to do other things while she is sleeping.

Some good suggestions l was going to say a rubber mat. Maybe you could secure the playpen to something solid so it can't move.

Tie all of the cords, etc up in bundles. I have done this for years to protect my cats.

Swap the curtains for blinds.
Give the child a silky blanket.
Tie the curtains up.

I would also suggest a rubber mat, or anti-slip mat (those little rubber mesh thingies you put under rugs to keep them from sliding around...you can usually get those at dollar stores). Is the thing on wheels? If so and the wheels don't lock, I would look at placing something to prevent the wheels from rolling, such as a heavy book, brick, piece of wood, etc...

Best of luck. Two year olds can be evil geniuses. :)

Or take the wheels off?
