Ok, I'd really appreciate it if any of you could offer me answers or your opinions on a question or two.

I'm not new to Lit nor am I new to writing erotic fiction, but I've finally decide to submit some stories.

Now, here's the deal. What I write has a real life backstory to it. It involves a man I met on LIt over a year ago and the relationship that has developed.

The backstory involves our actual lives and in my entirely subjective opinion lends context to the fiction and enhances it.

My thought is to offer this backstory to readers as a preface to the stories each of us have written.

The questions are then: would anyone read it, would anyone care, and would real life context enhance or is not important? I know that last part is difficult to answer without reading anything.

And finally, if I decide to offer the backstory, would it make sense, or even be appropriate to submit it as a stand alone story and then link to it at the beginning of each work of fiction? It would simply be impossible to weave the real life elements into the stories.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts those of you with more experience can offer.
Feel free to answer me here, pm me, or email me.

Thanks

J

Hi J...I would read it, and I would care...and Yes..real life would make the story more ...real life :) :rose: :nana:

It's hard to answer your questions without actually reading the story.

I don't think the story being real either enhances nor detracts from it. It may make a difference if a reader knew one or both of the parties.

Depends. I could care less if the story is your version of true or not. Half the new writers on Lit have submitted a "true" story at one time or other. If the story is well written and interesting, it will be read.

Will we care? That depends again on your writing.

Will be believe it? Not likely.

i will always vote for real life stories... i beleive that every person prefers a real stury than that of a imagineary... it is my advice to post stories as they have happened

But see, here's the thing: you don't really know if the story is true, or if the author's just saying that, right?

I swear, I just don't get the obsession with "true" stories. Honestly. You have no way of knowing if it is or isn't, no matter what the author says, so what's the big deal?

If you want "true" stories, read Penthouse letters.

I think Scouries writes most of those...:D

Oh, is that why he's convinced himself he's a "bestselling" author at a site where the stories are free?!?!?

I've read his letters to Penthouse. I don't believe them there either. Especially the one about his mother-in-law and the giraffe.

It's not accurate. He substituted the giraffe to protect the orangutan's identity.
