I have been recently contacted by an editor/publisher or is going to act as my agent. This person I believe is legit and not someone looking for a blowjob. He has already shown 3 of my chapters at a literary show to different publishers (with my permission) who have requested to see more of the story. They like the character of the quirky Tammy Trueheart and find her "fresh and humerous" something that has been missing from the porn industry which has slided to just writing about the mechanics of sex. They like the way I retell a story that has been told about "200 times" at Litertica. I hope to make Tammy the next "Candy" but will now settle for a little extra income from underage kids who sneak into adult bookstores and buy my book.

I know I am a little far ahead as no one has agreed to publish the stories, but my literary agent (I just love saying that!) claims the positive response he received would indicate they want to publish. (One man claimed if the rest of the book was as good as those 3 chapters he would publish it.)

Since the book is identical to what is here at Literotica, (minus some editing changes) should I leave my stories posted and what would be the proper way to have them removed should I have to do that?

I was thinking of removing the majority of them and leaving behind just a few stories to get e-mail responses from newbies then linking them to somewhere they can buy "the rest of the story." Is that fair or unethical?

If you are reading this and a Tammy Trueheart fan, there is one final chapter being written (6/7) completed. I would also suggust you download/cut and paste my stories while you can.

xoxoxo
Tami

PS I also want to thank the wonderful folks here at Literotica who made it possible to be "discovered" without ever having to submit one piece of writing to a publisher.

While I am a fan, if they are going to publish they may require you to take stuff down. Maybe you could tempt the new comers with shorter stories and little scenes or such.

I'd make a point of ensuring that the people who are looking to buy know the stories are already published online. It may not make a difference, and yes, it might be a deal-breaker, but it's not good if they find out afterward and it would have been a deal-breaker.

As for leaving the stories up? Let the publishers decide that if they want to put the book in print, or if it's something they're considering when they're making their choice, you may want to offer that. Otherwise, don't sweat it for nothing.

Oh, and several authors here have taken down their stories, so several know how. If they don't respond here, it would be wise to start another thread, stating your request in the title.

Just my thoughts.

Good luck to you!

To delete a story, you have to submit a new blank story with the title of the one you want deleted as the tiel + "TO BE DELETED". Add a little note in the author's notes at the end to say that you want to delete the story of the same name.

Any publisher will demand that you take down a book from a free site when they intend to charge people to read it, but since it'll take at least 4-6 months from the time you sign your contract to the time you get something in print, even as an e-book, you don't have to remove them now. There's so many things that can go wrong before you sign a contract, I'd leave your stories up until then.

Whether they want you to take it all down or allow you to leave a chapter up as a teaser is up to them.

I'd be careful with the name Tammi Trueheart too. As I recall, that was the name of Mighty Mouse's girlfriend, and it may well be copyright protected. No joke.

That was Pearl Pureheart. His other girlfriend was Mitzi.

Thank you all

I wanted to thank you all for advice. I don't think it is going to be an e-book, but one that is printed. There are all different ways to write Tami Trueheart should I run into problems. I was inspired by the name Tess Trueheart, except in this case Trueheart is clearly an oxymoron as it well should be in porn.

I don't plan on removing stories anytime soon. In fact I plan on adding my final one, then changing characters. She of course will be another slut, but not one which lies, cheats, steals and justifies it all in her own mind as doing something good. Some people were able to get into that aspect of Tammy and laugh at it, while others took her so seriously as to leave negative comments and e-mails. It is hard to explain to someone that the story is fictional when you want them to believe it is real for fantasy use.

And Earl- good advice on those 10 commandments. Write to enjoy yourself.

I could talk :D

Tammi - Would you put a link in your signature to your stories? I'm curious to read now.

And thank you.

You are right, sir. I stand corrected.

But I'm right that both damsels' nemesis was the despicable Oil Can Harry, am I not?
