Need my work removed

I have sent multiple messages to different contact emails over the last two and a half weeks, and can't seem to get a response. I need my story removed as I am preparing to publish the edited version. I'm starting to freak out a little that I haven't gotten any kind of response. Has anyone gone through this process before? Is anyone able to help with this?

Thanks

PM Laurel directly. The contact e-mails have been broken for years, so no one is getting them.

Type 'Laurel' in the "Recipient Username(s)" field (without the little ' marks), and in the body of the message, tell her you would like to take your stories down from the site, and press Submit Message.

You'll get a reply that explains the steps you'll need to take (it has to go through your own control panel, so she knows you, the author, are requesting this as opposed to some random idiot), and how long after those steps are taken you can expect to see them removed from the site. :)

Thank you - I think that's how the first message I sent was done, but I'll try it again just in case. Also found a suggestion about resubmitting the story only putting 'delete' in on the end of the title and a message about wanting it deleted with all the links to the story with it (there's 16 parts), so I'm hoping one of these methods will work.

To submit an edited version of a story, resubmit it with EXACTLY the same name as it currently has, and in the Notes to the Editor box (near the bottom off the Submit page) type EDITED. You do NOT need to take your old story down. Laurel sorts out the replacement, and you keep your views, comments, faves and the score.

Load your edited text as you would for any submission. It's also a good idea to put a brief note for Laurel as to why you have edited. Be aware that edits are low priority and will take longer than the usual vett and post process.

If they are minor "vanity" edits, there is a school of thought that says, don't waste Laurel's time (we all have minor typos). If they are major edits or rewrites, there's also a school of thought that says "get it right the first time, find an editor before submitting".

If you have multiple parts, the chapter convention is

Johnny met Sally Chap 01
Johnny met Sally Chap 02
etc

That way, when you get to Chap 10, your sequencing doesn't go wrong

This is the suggested method for removing stories, and should get to Laurel and process within around three days of submission.

To delete a story, submit just as you did when you posted it except add - DELETE to the end of the title.

You can leave everything else blank.

In the notes field add a note that you would like the story deleted and include the link to the story. It will take approx. 7 days as deletes are done last.

ETA: never mind.

Deletes actually seem to process more quickly than edits from what I've seen. Every one I've heard talked about has processed with the normal queue.

Makes sense, because a deletion can probably be processed pushbutton as opposed to modifying the various fields with new information.

They are both a single SQL statement and you can put them in a stored procedure and just call them from the command line. So edits shouldn't take any longer than a delete.
