I have some stuffed animals that I've had since I was a child. They mean a lot to me, but my room mate used to smoke, and some of the white and light ones have become yellowed. I can't immerse them in water, but I could get them wet, the only thing is I don't know what to use that won't damage the fabric over time.

Anyone have any suggestions, or know of a site or book or magazine were I could find out? I know its kind of childish, but these are really sentimental momentos of my past and I'd like to restore them.

Oh, by the way, the last question I asked about the guy and the anonymous gift? It worked out well. Thank you all.

Febreeze and hertl plus with a sponge and damp cloth should take the smell and tobacoo yellow out but then take saop and water on a damp rag to rid the smell of either those two then just clear water on a damp rag to take out the soap.

do all this with gentle rubbing.

Yea, the Febreeze will help the smell, don't know about the hertl, never used that....

If you don't want to use regular soap, try woolite in the water you dampen the rag with. I know woolite is to soak in, but it is gentle. Use softened water too. That way the soap won't have to fight the junk in the water. And don't use much soap with the treated water.

whoops that should be hertzl plus sorry its more of a cleaner than a odor remover as febreeze is more of a smell remover than a cleaner.

i use both in conjunction with the soapy water and regular water treat ments usually a 4 step process
