I submitted a story that was rejected. They said it was because they weren't sure if the people in the story were under 18. The funny part is that I put "I write based on my imagination. All the characters in this story are of legal age and consent." right before the story. This is really aggravating because it's like they don't even read it. Who do I talk to about this?

Everything clears through the editor, Laurel, who also gives out the rejection notices (and says she does so personally). The only way to connect with her is by PM (private message)--see the upper right of this page. The address would simply be "Laurel."

sr71plt is right, best way to contact Laurel is through PM.

Remember that she has to read an awful lot of stories, and that it's important to make sure this site abides by legal requirements in order for it to keep going. Writers often slip something into a story to make sure it demonstrates the participants are of legal age: "He produced his ID at the bar", that kind of thing.

:rose: Welcome to the board! You can get good answers to writers' questions here, and have a lot of fun in some of the word game threads too.

as stated in the above messages please contact the editor ... cheers ...

Unfortunately when an author puts a disclaimer like that at the beginning of the story, it doesn't guarantee that the rest of the story will adhere to it. I remember reading one story that started out by telling us the girl was 18, but later on started making a big point of her "prepubescent figure" and other such creepiness - it was pretty clear the author had taken an under-age story and concealed that element for just long enough to sneak it past the mods (until somebody reported it).

Also, "legal age" doesn't necessarily satisfy the Literotica rules - where I live it would be legal for a 17-year-old to have sex, but I couldn't detail that on Lit.

All the stories posted here are checked by the one person, so she tends to skim and mistakes do happen in both directions. If your story genuinely is over-18, it was probably just a mistake during screening. If so, just resubmit and use the "Notes" field to confirm that nobody's having explicit sex under 18.

You can also PM Laurel as suggested above, but using the Notes field may make it easier for her to know which story you're talking about.

Sorry I retract that! BT is right in this case. You should check your story and make sure it has nothing in it that could be pinged as underage sex according to the rules of the site, then resubmit with a clear (polite!) note to Laurel in the Notes box. She has a tough job reading through all these stories looking for the errors we all make. I have always found her courteous and helpful when I have had to contact her about a problem.

Ordinarily sr71plt is right, if you have an issue contact Laurel by PM. Whatever, do not send an email, they never read the emails.

:)

I know my story. I know there's no underaged anything in it. I resubmitted it making only a slight change by, once again, reiterating everyone was over 18.
