So I want to *try* and shave around my cock and balls, basically getting rid of all the hair. I read all of the links in the manual I could find, and no dice. The main problem is that I have never used anything besides an electric razor. So switching to one with 3 or 4 blades is different, and kinda scary:eek:

I shaved off all I could with the beard trimmer, and then tried the razor with some sensitive shaving cream. At first no hair was coming off, then I pressed a little harder and slashed some skin.

Anyone wanna help me out here? The only thing I have found is a video on youporn of a girl shaving a guy. If anyone had or knew of a video not shot from the guys point of view looking down that would help too. So pretty much any help would be nice. If things go well I might post pics:devil:

If you are shaving a full growth of hair off I can only tell you what I did after I had my babies (I keep myself shaven but when you are hugely pregnant you cant do it so I ended up with the full bush, lol)

I cut as much as I could off with scissors then got the area very soapy. Using a multibladed razor I'd shave in the direction of the hair growth over and over til I got it down to a stubble. You may need several razors for that bit so I used disposable ones and replaced them often.

When it was down to a stubble I soaped up again and shaved in the opposite direction to the hair growth, pulling the skin a little tighter to make sure that it was baby bottom smooth. Be gentle to reduce the inevitable rash you would get for the first few shaves.

Pubic hair tends to grow in many different directions just like facial hair does, so just feel around for where you need to shave in another direction.

I find shaving foams/gels etc a little harsh for the pubic area and they leave me with a burning feeling so I just stick to plain old soap and water.

what kind of razor were you using that you cut yourself? please tell me it wasn't a straight razor?

i trim rather than shave clean, but i would think that a standard facial manual razor would do the job OK. if that was what you were using, what brand was it--that might help other people getting cuts where we really don't want 'em!

The razor was a venus quatro I think... it has 4 little mini blades

Can you successfully shave any other parts with a manual razor, like a section of your thigh or something? I'm thinking maybe you could trim the hair, lather up and practice your technique on another, easier to see, area, to get the basic method down before you proceed to your bits.

You shouldn't cut yourself at all if you're not moving the razor horizontally and the skin is taut. So, make sure you have the strokes down, your hands and the razor aren't slippery and one hand is keeping the skin (especially on your balls) taut when you do get to your bits.

Were you shaving with the grain, against it, or across it, when you weren't getting any hair? Different strokes work on different areas, and pubic hair can kind of grow every which way, so sometimes it takes a bit of trial to figure out which stroke will get the hair best on any given part. Generally, you'll get the least irritation by going with the grain, but you get a closer shave by going against it or across it. So, you might try going with it for one stroke, cleaning off your razor (wash it off and set it flat on your hand/arm or a cloth and move it straight up to pull any hair out of the blades), then going across it for one stroke, cleaning the razor again, and finally going against it for one stroke. You want to use as few strokes as possible while still getting all the hair.

Your shaving cream might be a hindrance, too. Instead of a cream, you might try a clear gel, like King of Shaves (Alpha?) Gel, or an oil like Shave Secret. Both of these products will allow you to see what you're doing and contain things like Tea Tree Oil, which reduce irritation and ingrown hairs. I like the King of Shaves gel better than the oil (which produces more drag and is harder to clean off the razor), but have gotten good results with both. If you don't want to change products, you might try lathering up, letting it sit for a minute or two, then wiping the excess off with the side of your hand. You can add a thinner layer of more cream as necessary, but you won't get so much as to impede the actual shaving or make it hard to see what you're doing. Always, always clean your razor frequently (like every stroke or three) with hot water and wipe excess hair out of the blades.

I'm not sure what else you're looking for, but it sounds like you kind of need to get the whole shaving thing down before you move on to the shaving the genitals thing. It's a process of trial and error in terms of products, razors, strokes and aftercare. Perhaps you'd do best just concentrating on one small area a day or something until you figure out what works best for you.

If all else fails, there are electric razors for the pubic area (although they can be quite pricey), or maybe a depilatory like Magic Shave Powder would work better for you. Or, if you can afford it and handle the thought, you could always get waxed!

A Venus, or a Schick Quattro? They're two different things.

We've been using the Quattro for years, and it's the best razor I've ever used, hands down. I particularly like the Quattro Power (which works with any quattro blades, even the women's quattro ones) because it has a nice handle and I think the little vibrations do give a better shave. The cartridges are expensive, but I just buy them when I have a good coupon and/or there's a rebate on them, and they last a very long time (partly because we usually only use them for pubic hair removal; to avoid bacterial growth/infection, they can be sanitized with rubbing alcohol).

I don't know about yours, but my balls are nothing like my skin even when pulled taut. This makes using a razor and shaving cream difficult for me. I default to an electric razor. It does a very good job, though not as close as a blade.

Now it is part of my shaving routine in the morning and I do it again in the evening if I am going out. There is never razor burn or irritation using the electric razor. Actually the hum of the razor feels pretty good. I think the best shaver is the Braun 7 760cc

I have pictures in my thread below that shows what an electric can do.

I discovered that the Conair ladies body and eyebrow trimmer works great...especially for a quick trim. I still use a razor on my balls because I like how they feel when ultra smooth, but the little shaver is great for on and around the shaft and butt crack. One caveat...I have a Scandinavian background so I'm not real hairy. It would probably take forever if you have lots of thick hair...the shaver isn't very big. Looks like a nose hair trimmer.
