My wife is generally a sub when it comes to sex. I thought that we might try sometime with tying her up.

Now we are both new at this and I don't want to scare her into never doing it again. How should I start? Should I go to a sex shop and get those fur-lined handcuffs or velcro straps? Should I get some rope for a home improvement store (not too scratchy, of course) and use that?

What are some good positions to start?

Any advise for the seasoned veterans is appreciated.:D

anything you have around the house is fine to tie her up with. just make sure it's not too tight (you DON'T want to loose circulation) and that the knot isn't so complicated you couldn't undo it quickly. ties, stockings, robe sashes, belts, just about anything can keep a woman still! or if you really do want some sort of device like handcuffs, you can get them for about 5 bucks at a kid's store or a party store. they usually have a "safety release" so you don't have to worry about keeping up with that tiny key.

as for starter positions, you could just try binding her hands together, maybe behind her back or even to the bed. there's thousands of positions in which to tie someone up, just be creative! nothing too uncomfortable for her at first, no akward positions or long periods standing. if she likes it, of course, you can move on to more complicated things.

hope this is of some help! feel free to ask anything you'd like to know! ^_^

Oh Librarian!!!!!

*grin* Didn't we just go through this one a few days ago???

Thought i heard someone calling.

Hello and welcome to the board orange. Please note we have an extensive Library which consists of many BDSM related topics. Feel free to the peruse its contents. You might find quite a bit of information.

As to your original question, we recently covered a bondage for beginners in this thread. Please review each of the online links provided and thoroughly acquaint yourself with the techniques and dangers. Finally, as one of our posters (Eviktar) said in that thread, always have handy a pair of EMT shears in case of complications.

Good luck to you (and your wife) in your explorations and safe journey.

Psst ... she's the librarian. She should.

But even so....It's a bit of a shock...

Hmm I pretty much exclusively use rope from the local DIY outlet...You can buy a lot more expensive things - but unless you are doing suspension I don't see the point in it..

The rope I use ( and I have a LOT of it) is a polypro..It is soft and has a smooth surface texture.. What would be called a "kernmantle" rope...
Buy it off the spool, by the foot , and you can get a lot for a small investment. While in the same isle (usually) you can find all kinds of neat hardware to use with it.
The poly compound kernmantle rope can have the ends fused or wrapped easily, and can actually be thrown into the washing machine.
One tip ...avoid the smaller diameters ..Or save them for special applications.. They can be really frustrating ..And cut off the circulation much easier than the larger.

I like using bandannas for really fast but effective hand and foot ties. Pantyhose are good too, but what I'd advise a beginner to do is to cut off the legs then put both the bondage bottom's feet and forearms into one pantyhose leg, it's like an armbinder or footbinder (sub upright kneeling or facing forward please, not lying on her arms - nice sexable doggie style positioning possible...)

Hardware store rope, I agree is good. I make sure mine is braided, not twisted and has no "core" in it - if you want to get into decorative and lovely bondage I recommend Midori's book "The seductive art of Japanese Bondage"

The prettiness of Japanese Bondage sometimes makes it a good draw for beginner bottoms, they want to look hot. There are no fancy knots and basic ties are not impossible to learn.

It feels and looks sexy and can usually be done in a comfortable way, the bondage itself should generally not hurt.

Very true..at least for a beginner..try not to put the body in stress with position or ropework...

Save the torture for AFTER they are tied...

Oh ..and one of my favorite things to do ..

"You may feel free to struggle now" Try it ..it can be ...fascinating.
